Xenon Bulbs

Thinking of getting xenon bulbs for my sidelights and fogs to take the yellow glare away.

Think the headlights are standard HID in the B4.

Has anyone used these before, does the effect look well and is there a blue tint off all xenon bulbs?

Is fleebay the best place to get them.

Advice appreciated!

i have fitted xenon kits on my last 3 cars recently on the impreza.. but you cant get xenon kits for sidelights becaue they are only a 5 watt bulb with a low enough operating temperature, if you go down the road of trying to fit a xenon kit to your sidelights your asking for trouble xenons operate at extremely high temperatures an will most likely melt your sidelight aperture or wherever sidelamp is housed.-{not to familar wit leggys}, can be done on the fogs with a h3 kit i know cse i tried it with impreza but were too bright at night blinding other drivers absolutly no point so i got h4 bi xenon .lamps for the headlights. you do know how xenons work..?? unlike halogen lamps xenon lamps need a ballast unit to start and regulate current flow in the lamp. the ballast unit takes the 12v supply in and creats a huge output voltage in order to creat an arc to ignite the gas in the lamp.. so you need to ask yourself do you even have the space to mount the ballasts.. :ponder: anyways if your looking for a xenon kit try www.hids4u.co.uk thats all they do will even email you back if you have any questions . good luck ....

ps- all xenon lamps are temperature rated, 4000k would be white, 6000k would be blue/white, 8000k would be blue /purple, the blue'r the lamp the less light they throw, 6000k is standard in most cars..! best all rounder with looks and performance...

Went down this road myself to try and have all the same colour up front but as above all that is available is the standard yellow blub   the blubs arent the standard 501 type, they have two elements in them and the second element lights up corresponding to whatever direction you are turning

I got 501 xenon side lights thinking the same thing so imagine how p1ssed i was when i spent ages taking the bloody headlamp out, took the bulb out and the side light is the same as design as the front indicator bulbs with offset pins. Not a total waste though as i still put in the chrome indicators to start de-tangoing the car. Looks much better without any orange anywhere. And I put the 501 xenons in over the rear number plate, looks the job

Thanks for the replies lads,

I seen a B4 with different bulbs in the side lights before, they had a blue tint off them. Not sure how they were fitted with the cornering bulb issue.

Anyhow don't want a blue tint, was looking for the crisp white light similar to headlight.

Sounds like its not really worth the hastle! I heard them bulbs can be a cnt to get at as well!

all the front lights on my b4 are hid colour (super white) parks are 1157 off center 36 leds white and my spots are piaa xtreme force
(they look blue when their off) all bought on e-bay
