Help with dump valve

Hi all. when I bought the car I could hear the dump valve was loud and a nice blow off it it's a standard one on my sti after a few spins I can't hear it at all now. Just wondering do they fail and I new a new one thanks

Hi man orginal they have a recerc valve don't dump air or vent to atmosphere

Fire up a pic of one on yours some work only when driving hard and some vta all the time.

That’s standard, shouldn’t have made a “dump valve” noise to begin with.

When I looked at the car and test drove it it made the blow off noise and now it doesn't do it at all

would the previous owner have removed the dump valve that was on it and put back on the standard one. Is there any marks on the bolts from a spanner?

No coz that's the picture I took off the engine bay after I took it for a spin so it's the same one

It is a strange one no nothing has been changed it's totally standard. It only thing I was messing with was the deffe controller for the boost gauge

Check your exhaust header/manifold. Could be a hole in it.

Mine does the same when I get up to just over 3k revs on the first turbo.

Or you could lean into it and go for a GFB Respons BOV. Change it from fully recirc to Ric Flair.

The thing is there no noise now. But yes I was looking to put one on it and looking to see what's the best to put on it

Gfb mentioned above good as can shut by hand (twist colar) to full reserc and open when want some noise but generally subaru prefer reserc system.

First thing tho get to bottom of your noise or lack of mabay was just excitement of the first few drives

Ya I deffo look into to see if there was a noise. You could be right ciaran it probably was the excitement off driving it the first time a d in my head thinking there was a noise

GFB Response bov for the win in my book. Great piece of kit and can adjust the amount of noice very easily.

I think it was the excitement of driving the car, and now you are used to all the mechanical noises

I think you could be Right the excitement and just taking it for a spin love the sound off it
