No coz that's the picture I took off the engine bay after I took it for a spin so it's the same onewould the previous owner have removed the dump valve that was on it and put back on the standard one. Is there any marks on the bolts from a spanner?

The thing is there no noise now. But yes I was looking to put one on it and looking to see what's the best to put on itCheck your exhaust header/manifold. Could be a hole in it.
Mine does the same when I get up to just over 3k revs on the first turbo.
Or you could lean into it and go for a GFB Respons BOV. Change it from fully recirc to Ric Flair.

You could be right ciaran it probably was the excitement off driving it the first time a d in my head thinking there was a noiseGfb mentioned above good as can shut by hand (twist colar) to full reserc and open when want some noise but generally subaru prefer reserc system.
First thing tho get to bottom of your noise or lack of mabay was just excitement of the first few drives
