Been meaning to get a few bits resprayed on the car since I bought the legacy, hoodscoop side skirts, bumper and spoiler need to be done if anyone can recommend someone in Dublin/Kildare??

15 grand ffs, Some fellas think just coz they work with paint to make a living that they're some kind of renaissance artist..gobshites..Quoted €15k for a paint job

Paint ended up costing 4500 and it wasnt as good a a mates in Donegal did previous for €500 , he wasn’t in a position to do it the second time
Nah they're primadonna's, my cousin went to this local fella in Blackpool looking to get a glass out engine out respray done on his r32 gtr and he got quoted €13,500..
He asked how come it was so much and the artist said that to do it right and to do the car justice blah blah blah the price is the price..

it is hard to put a price on doing it right, once you include both prep and work after painting.
Proper prep, sanding and polishing after paint, removing any dirt and orange peel is all a job in its own and labour isnt cheap.
Laying the paint is the easy part of the job, its everything around it that put the price up.
Respraying a car is very different from getting a good glass finish, that a lot of people look for on older cars going for a respray

15k is 150 hours at €100 an hour on labour alone, before any materials. Prep and post painting would eat those hours alone on a respray to get a show car finish
After doing my WRX I have a new respect for people that do it as their job
It's the labour is a killer cost wise
I did a 2day paint correction in my wife's car recently 20+ hours
Girl living next door asked how much would I want to do her car the same. She nearly had a heart attack when I said minimum 600. That's only 30 an hour which is a fraction of what most charge for labour
Even at that I wasn't chasing perfection,same with the golf r. Took 2days and it's still far from defect free paint wise
