Hi guys,whats involved in getting a stock engine over 400bhp ?
Any one running that or more h/p on stock internals ?
Any opinions would be great .

am aiming for this myself

iv collected

sc46
fmic
650 injectors
turbo inlet pipe
harvey headers
harvey trick up-pipe
oil catch can

need cash to finish as its been on the long finger for over a year . :icon_redface: :icon_rolleyes:

What else do you need Ross? Just fitting and mapping not see you there now?
 
Some have pushed the standard engines up around 450, granted i wouldnt be a fan of doing that myself but just shows what difference there is between Classic and newage engine.
With the spec of the oe tmic and injectors, 400bhp shouldnt only really be a turbo and map away
 
agreed ken sure nic has his car up to near 380 with just a remap,induction kit,full exhaust and running a standard turbo iirc
 
not sure who'll be mappiong it or what route to take . price v reliability is a head wrecker ?

what do i need to complete ??? answer to that would be a bankers wallet ! and im no banker !


age and mileage are the biggest factor me thinks re: standard internals , and so many options has head wrecked on which direction to take to the point of walking away and selling parts at a loss but that would just be silly . but then you have to ask yourself "is it worth it?" in a ideal world yes every time but the way we are and are heading am i being a fool !

sometimes i just dont know !
 
@ mac mac either jgm or joe power would be a good option to map it but simons results with so many cars speaks for itself,you've been getting bits for a long time now so defo go ahead with it it will be a class car when done an original fast as fook prodrive bug :thumbsup:

Whats causes the pistons to fail ....ring- lands breaking ??
Too much boost ,too much heat ....???
What are stock rods rated for ?

I don't think its quite that much Gordon, possible closer to 360 :thumbsup: but I do eventually plan on getting it to 450 with the aid of a set of injectors, turbo and JGM's expertise :cool:
