10 years on one set of tyres!

B4 soon

Petrolheads
I have to get 4 new tyres today for the legacy as NCT is due and the sidewalls have cracks in all 4. While checking them I had a look at the date manufactured(its on all tyres) and it says 0201-ie.february 2001. Ten years and 106000km on one set of tyres!!! Almost a shame to take them off!

More likely to be old stock some tyre fitter bought in for cheap. Unless you put the tyres on since you owned the vehicle that must be some sort of record alright.

Theyre OE Bridgestone RE050's. Car first registered Mar 1st 2001,tyres dated feb 2001-hardly a co-incidence

they would be original tyres on that car...pretty dangerous..Jap rubber has different compounds and is not suited to our roads

some going alright they must be a different compound cos 25k is all i can get out of a set of re050 and thats normal driving .

Have almost 53k km on my car now and i wont get much more out of the tyres. I'll probably change them before the southern meet next weekend. I notice the brake pads are nearly worn too.
I think I'd have to be driving on grass fields before I'd get 100k+ km!
