1997 sti v-limited

Hi guys
I'm a brand new member and i'm looking for your help. :imnewhere:
I recently bought my first scooby a 1997 sti v-limited it was a child hood dream to own a classic impreza.
I'm looking for a catalytic converter to get it through the nct, any one know where i can pick 1 up. I priced a new 1 that's gona cost about €700 not the kind of money you want to spend on something that's literally gona be took off after she passes nct.
Does anyone even have alone of a cat.
Also any other info on the 1997 sti v-limited would be great full, should i be putting high octane mix into it? :imnewhere:

Does it need the down pipe or lambda
Can be got second hand for small money so I wouldn't worry
