1998 v4 sti coupe gear box NEEDED

am looking for a mint gearbox to suit a 1998 v4 sti 2door coupe...

mine is crunching 5th so presume its gonna need a box...

Tbh mate I wudnt know,some here will know r drop a mail to one if the traders here and they could advise the best option for you

Sounds like syncro mesh alright.

Any of the traders will sort it and it doesn't cost a fortune.

replacing the syncros is a gearbox out job, break open the box and inspect the insides. More damage could be found on the other syncros upon inspection.

full replacement gearbox is obviously another gearbox out job but the risk is that the replacement gearbox will have syncro problems later on.

There is no real cost effective way of a fix as both options require gearbox out with similar labour costs involved.
