2 pts and 80 yoyo fine

Petrolheads
got a letter 2 day informing me i was doing 84 in a 50 in me van. Fined 80 yoyos an 2 pts,
no print of proof of speed just a pic of me number plate, dont they ave 2 prove
how fast u were going? 16 yrs driving first fine, sickened. :icon_sad:
 
most likely a waste of time trying to fight this one as the penalty will be harsher to contest.....
your way over as well so cant even question the calibration of the gun or camera!!!

As Nodge said, they have proof but only use it in court. Best to just pay the fine and take it on the chin! :thumbsup:
 
Did i hear somewhere that if you ignore the fine and go to court claiming you never received it you'd get away with it? Because letter didn't come via reg post therefore Garda cannot prove that you received it?

In this case I'd probably just stump up, however if it were a case of 10-12 points, it might be worth a chance!!
 
That all depends on the judge Alan. If he believes you then sometimes they will but i have heard of plenty of people saying that and the judge just asking does he look stupid and then doubling the points and fine.
 
paid fine 2day, i suppose 2pts aint dat bad. i'll b keepng an eye out 4 dat camera van in future.
