2004 outback ej25 rebuild cost

Hi,

I was wondering if I could get a rough price for a rebuild on a 2.5 n/a engine. It looks like it ran low on oil and developed a slight knock on idle, seems to be from the passanger side of the engine.
The knock can't be heard when looking under the bonnet but it can be heard when inside the car.
