2011 Impreza STI Spec C Saloon at Nurbugring

i duno if its just me but i prefare the old spec c for appearance that just looks like a lowered modified corolla with a body kit. only my opinion

Old hawkeye spec c is definately nicer looking car but i would have no problem owning one of them new ones , the arse end aint its best feature but could be worse , also where is the roof scoop ???????????????

have a look at the back of a hyundai elantra and tell me the difference. I was driving behind one there and the rear looks quite the same!!!

Agree!
Normal STI me thinks!
For me, It's never about the look, the new Spec c will be more technologically advanced than the Hawk!
That does it for me!

By the why, if the Saloon takes off, What are we going to call the new one! We can't call it the hatch saloon!!

Just finished reading an article on the EU emissions directive which doesn't bode well for any manufacturer not making serious efforts to reduce average emissions across its entire model range. It does however allow manufacturers to combine average co2 ratings with other manufacturers in an effort to reach the 130 co2 target by 2012. This is why Mercedes and Renault have agreed to take a stake in each other as Renault have already achieved a sub 130 co2 average across its entire model range and Mercedes can use Renault's surplus to help bring down its average which despite the proliferation of low Co2 diesel Mercs remains stubbornly high due to all those amazing AMG V8s and V12s!.

Perhaps Toyota can pool its average co2 with Subaru which would allow Subaru to make a new STI which could have a relatively poor Co2 but still allow the average for the entire model range not to exceed 130 co2. Any manufacturer who fails to meet these targets by 2012 will not be able to sell any cars until it achieves these targets.

Unfortunately, every time I see something about this new STI saloon I just think what's the point. Its already extinct. Better to take a leaf out of Porsche and Audi's book and look at making relevant cars, ones which combine high power and low Co2 emissions. I dont understand why Subaru haven't taken more advantage of their tie up with Toyota to borrow heavily from their emissions department. After all the US's emissions regulations are even stricter than the EU's and the US is by far Subaru’s' largest market outside of Japan.

BTW the current hatchback STI is no looker so grafting an even fatter arse end onto it is not going to make much difference. I dont care what anyone says, no one will buy a car they think is pig ugly just because it is fast. That is like going out with a minger who is great in bed...fun as long as no one else is watching

I was thinking about that youtube title, werent the spec c's built just for FIA homologation rules?,considering this version probably wont be anywhere near a rally version a spec c title probably wont apply to that chassis?
