2013 number plates to be changed to avoid ‘unlucky 13’

think about it though, when your buying a car in years to come you will know if it was a first half or second half of a year old. it will look strange though on the plates. its also a second chance every year to get low numbers on the plate :dontknow:

so really you'll only have a new car for 6 months , they really are clutchibg at straws , raise vrt , two new reg's a year , whats next ?????????????/

its not a stupid idea colm.

subaru never sold "13" on any of there limited cars and irish people are very superstitious. in japan it is a very unlucky number aswell.

also its good to see when a car was bought new, there a big difference between a january car and december car, sometimes in spec too.

england have been doing it for years to and it works there

So if you play with the spacing you can have 13 1 G 1 or (BIG 1). I want a black Maseratti with 13 C 666. I think it would be desirable in years to come.

yeah take your point on that but you know what i mean , 12 reg is still accepted as a "new" car until the end of december ,

yeah i suposse the unlucky number part would be a concern sales wise and also resale value for future owners
but i always loved the simplicity of our registration system

How?

You can't class "131" " 132" as havin "13" in it. It's classed as "one hundred and thirty one etc...
