2015 and still a Subaru.

What if it was tracked for 10k of them and not looked after Not saying it was. But there's always 2 sides :ponder:

Agree completely joe but if it was tracked for 10k it wouldn't have been full 10k of track use it would surely be on and off use at that ?

He could have ran it low on oil and spun a bearing that way?
It's all guess work on a forum though!

Suppose so baz . But a car that's only out what 12 months at most . Doesn't say a lot for the manufacturer

Tbh Id say a lot of it is failing to check oil level .

they do use a bit , even in standard trim ,

check mine every time i take her out , overkill i know but better safe than sorry

Not overkil at all .
Check mine once a week , needs to be topped up once a month bout 250ml.

I think it the design of the engine where the gudgen pin hole is in the block (which can fill with oil) and how far the Pistons come down the bore .

Also running in correctly will determine how much oil it will use , I don't think the ej20 has this issue.

If you buy one new is there a run in or are you good to go from the off or are they run in on a dyno or something :dontknow:

He went to the Subaru - they denied him based on something I assume...
Then he posted the add conveniently throwing the dirt on the manufacturer but not disclosing Subaru's reason...
