You but that for 28k in three years it will be worth 30k+...spend 28k on a well spec'd Golf GTI and in 4 years its worth 15k...even if you drove it day to day and put 40k miles on it you'd still get 22k for it
i stand buy my previous statment . and if lotto were to cross my path im sure id be more inclined to a gt3 rs vw beetle. (you know)
2k miles in 8 years , cars are to be driven ,and not stored away for willy waggin rights . in a giant condom . personally id would build a rally satge / topgear test track/ runway and some less overpriced cars that me and friends could have the crack . the likes of travis pastrana's / petter solberg life .
nitro circus =
lthe likes of yer man jay leno buying 70+year old american cars in very good nick for absurd amounts of money = madness and jus not my cup of tea . would still like a big shed garage with a good few toys inc on/off roader's .
I'm not debating wheter it should be driven or that you can't buy plenty of other good performance cars for the money... I'm just saying that it is worth every fecking penny considering what it is... how many where made... and what it'll be worth in years to come regardless of the mileage. Niall showed me a Audi Quattro Sport recently being used as a tow car and probably worth 5ok... the fecking thing had 60 odd thousand miles... if memory serves me right... on it and it's still worth a small fortune. 22B's are probably at their rock bottom price at the moment and will only appreciate with age.... now's the time to buy them!!
them 22b's are a complete waste of money at that price. realistically they should be a tiny bit more expensive than a normal type r or p1 but not an extra 20-30k. I no a 22b is basically regarded as god in the scooby circle but even if i was loaded i wouldnt buy one but thats just my opinion everyone is different
You can't realistically price them a few grand more than a P1 or Typer R. There where thousands of type R's made and a 1000 P1's... so the rarity of the 22B makes them worth every penny... including the fact that they where designed with bespoke bodywork similiar to the iconic WRC cars and bespoke engines, gearboxes interiors etc. ... unlike any other factory Subaru.
By that rational the SWB Sport Quattros should be priced a few grand more than the standard quattros... And RS500 Cossie's should only be a few grand more than a standard Cossie. You're paying for the heritage and exclusivity lads. And time shows that cars like these are always going to fetch a premium... sure look at RS1800 Escorts BDA's... they go for 40k sterling nowadays! Where as RS2000's go for a fraction of the price!
have to agree there jamie worth every penny as there was so little made it cant be compared to a type r or a p1,exactly dave they're art and a real thing of beauty
agree with daves view . and reiterate my point that only a fool would buy a painted piece of canvas with some colours for 100k .wouldnt matter if it was " yer one" smiling at me or the cistine chapel . its all about willy waggin rights and pubtalk .
kind of like the story i heard on radio this morning where some loony paid 8 g's for a chicken mc nugget because it looked like jesus or somethuing and another where jesus' face was on a burnyt slice of toast . willy wagger with too much money and not enough sense .
peoples valuation this world can be a real head scratcher at times !
100% worth every cent,if i had alot of cash id buy as many mint 22b's that i could find....
some of the negative comments are making my blood boil
yere lucky i can only one finger type coz id have pages of disagreements wrote already
is it only the newage drivers that think the 22b is over rated, too expensive and only worth a small bit more than a type r/ p1
They obviously are worth 28k because they sell at that price...your valuation of its worth to yourself is meaningless...the market value on these cars is 25k + or - depending on mileage...does it stack up against what you can buy for 28k in performance terms? no of course it doesn't but that's not the point...
Now I don't think the 22b will ever reach those kind of prices.. mainly because any group B homologation car is seriously valuable...but it goes show what well preserved cars with history are worth..I personally wouldn't pay that for a 22B but doesn't diminish it's value...it's worth what people will pay for it like any product
