these cars are not worth the money, ridiculous prices on them, i could never justify spending that on a classic
[/quote]

Not just a classic though is it man? 400 made. 2.2 engine.Wider Track, A beautiful car to look at in standard form compared to any classic just look at the Front wings and rear quarters. Your paying for the rarity of it and it being an Iconic Subaru.

Same with any classic..is a Mark 11 escort worth it? Escorth cosworth? Lanica Delta EVO? A car's value is dictated by demand these are still in demand hence the high prices

Well lads I don't no about the rest of you but if I had the cash lt wouldn't be sitting in that garden it would be in mine, and I don't think they are ridiculously priced in my opinion they are a true classic with only 400 ever made it doesn't get much rarer than that they are the model that got me interested in scoobys and I love them :subaru:

Two for sale on Pistonheads at the moment. One for £38K Stg:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3342073.htm

and one for £30k Stg:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3360861.htm

There must be a quick buck there for the taking if you had the cash..

I think it's cheap :1poke:

It is cheap Niall... just put my left kidney up on ebay... along with my gran!

I'd buy it in a flash if I could!

how ya lads, i understand that 22B is like a Christmobile for subi heads, yeah it is a collection car, but really would you buy that car if you had 22k in your account, IMHO unlikely, i just dont see ppl spending this kinda money on a 13yo car when economy is in such a chrisis, unless, you won the lotto...

Someone will buy it ..it will probably go back to the UK..if he has any sense he'll stick on pistonheads for 25k sterling..that car is an investment you wont see on as cheap...economy aside people will always buy and sell collectable cars...it's your likes of big jeeps, Mercs and BMW's used values that take a hit in recession.

It would really depend on its condition, if its a minter its cheap, if its not mint then its not cheap as there is a big difference in the sale value..
Under the the hood it doesnt look that appealing or looked after so i wouldnt be too confident about the rest..
I wouldnt mind where its parked as its probably a guy trying to get it out the back where it cant be robbed. probably well tucked in behind an iron gate and 2 savage dogs in there with it :)
I love the 22b as much as anyone but if i had 22k would i buy?? answer no i could buy a lot more car for the money, if i had a load of money would i buy??? yes and park it up and only drive it very seldom, You have to look at the price of parts on these and availability, and to me the 22B is no longer an every day car.

aot of you will probably shout and curse at me but i just dont see the point in the 22B :dontknow:

i know its rare, only 399 sold to the public, but its essentially a b@astardised Type R with a fancy body kit! not worth 20k+

id buy a RA and rebuild, forge and lighten, as well as put the body spot on and have change for a bag of chips

let the tirade of abuse commence :icon_nana:

:lolpoint: :lolpoint:

I dont know how to respond to that. It not really the same as type r with kit though thats for sure, its mechanically different. If I won the lotto Id buy one and pay whatever for the right one, If I had 22k to spend I wouldnt , same as Ken. you couldnt have it as a daily it would get destroyed

If money was no problem then for sure without doubt I would have one. Not as a daily though. A car like that is only going to increase in value.

What was the last price on the front wings when they could be still got from Subaru, 2 k or something??

is that a uk spec 22b??

do the rear windows look like there not tinted?

They were clear when it was imported. Also has a pair of 'Prodrive' buckets. Or at least it had when imported in 2006. Was sold for 30 odd k then.

No same glass as jap cars. Difference was higher ratio 5th, Uk rear lights with fog and the Uk headlights with adjustable dim. Centre console slightly different as well. Basically UK spec with the adjuster for the lights. Any 99 year Irish Turbo would have the same centre console.

have to agree with you on that mate, even if i had 22k id probably spend it on buying a type RA rebuild it ground up with forged engine that would leave 22b way way behind, but then again if you want it as a collection then everyone to its own thing...

p/s if i won a lotto id buy a Lamborghini..... :icon_lol:

Or you could drive it like it was built for and if anything did go wrong offset the depreciation you won't have against going 2.35 etc
