99 B4 - Update :wazzup:

I took it for a run this morn. and it was smooth. had a brainwave to swap where the boostgauge t piece goes. i messed around with the piping swapped ends and the pipes felt tighter. see image below. but now on idle it reads about 1 under 0 so -1. and then it spikes upto 1.5 bar and then back to 1.1 or 1.2, seems to be about that on both turbos. holy good god does it go now. this is the power ive been missing for so long. now i just have to get an idle position sensor and the horn fixed and its a MINT car..

From the way your pipework looks I'd say youre missing a restrictor pill as well-this would have a dramatic effect on boost. That hose off the blue t-piece on yours looks way wrong.You really need another B4 parked beside yours to compare it all and put it right.

I re did the pipe work as per your pics. And ehhemm ok i got a fright when i pressed the go pedal. 1st turbo feels nicer, and the 2nd one seems a little more manley..

Also what ever ive done with the piping has brought my idle down to normal :)

maybe it was remapped. i havent a clue. but to be honest, it feels smooth to drive im prob better to get another leggy side by side and double check..

so in otherwords. it would prob snap and bend somfin in time. ?
maybe thats why the other engine that was in it at the time broke. cos somone mapped it wrong.
 
sorry for reposting shite so quick lol.
ive just sk to a mate now i understand that if my boost gauge reads .4 bar while its off well then it needs calibration. or a new one. so 1.6 bar - .4 =1.2 bar. so b4soon your prob right. about 1.1
 
Well finally after getting the clutch done over the weekend ive managed to part with my scooby. its a sad but happy moment :) swapped it for a gti golf. And managed to actualy be getting 40-45 mpg on motorway home. so me is happy to be saving money.
Wish to thank everyone for their help with all my issues on it. And may the new owner have more luck than i had..
