99 Legacy B4 RSK Boost Nearly Fixed

Well lads.
Finally got me thumb outta me arse and got my second turbo at least boosting :)

Easy fix...

The arm from the big bov on the left side of the intercooler was off the turbo. See picture

Put that back on and used an old clip off my gti golf gear linkage to make sure it stays on.
The guy who had it before me had vacuum pipe 8 and 6 mixed up, Reversed them and put them into the correct places.

This is what I am now experiencing

1 Boost leak on 1st turbo. I know where this is. ( On boost its a little lumpy until revving past 3000 and it is reading around 10-11 PSI)
2 When second turbo kicks in, my PSI readings are 16 PSI from approx 4000 RPM to 6000 RPM after 6000 RPM it feels like boost is kicking in more. After 6000 - 7000 RPM it reads 18 PSI. I feel that 18 PSI is maybe a little too high? I think experienced fuel cut off where when it felt like it over boosted the engine cut, but when I moved into 3rd gear i still got full boost and so on..

Ill fix my boost leak and post back. I should also make sure my restrictor pills are inserted into the correct locations.

Here are a few pictures I picked up of vacuum layouts on legacy b4's referenced from this site, I hope this can help other Lads out there...

When you talk about the link rod to turbo being off, I think you mean the actuator rather than Bov, the actuator rod works the waste gate on turbo..

You have discoverd a lot since your first post on this matter..
As I said before twin turbos are a bit complex to work with and many problems can be down to the vacuum pipes being the wrong way around and restrictor pills being lost or on the correct places....

I would spend time going through all the pipe work and fix them correctly... I would find out the size of the restrictor pills... Whether they are all the same size or not... If different sizes maybe they are mixed up .. For example if you have a 1mm restrictor pill and someone has put a 0.8 mm pill in that will cause higher boost...

Also you need to find out what the correct boost is?
Maybe it's not fuel cut but instead a bad plug or coil pack braking down under load

Just spent 7 hours replacing the intake pipe that's at the rear of the engine. We'll the one I got wasn't the correct one. I think it was too big by a couple of mil. But got it in there all the same. It was off a 2002 b4.. Everything's tight Now. Put the original bov back on. Well it starts and drives now :) will take it for a proper spin next few days. I might need new seals for the intake though.
This site helped me out a little with instructions..
