hi i have a 99 legacy for six years now when i bought it first it had a hole in a piston so i rebuilt it .it has done it again can anyone sugest a good make of piston.i was told when i bought it it was remapped for irish fuel im douting that now thanks sean

Its detenation caused it.

So if you put a €1100 set of cosworth pistons in there it would still happen.

The piston isnt the faulty part/situation.

As Dave said
The car is knocking so will eat pistons
You need to map it for our fuel or at least use octain booster to try stop the knock.
Get a aftermarket knock sensor something like a ks3 this will let you know when the knock is happening
Hope this helps.
