Lads, the mother left her Toyota Yaris out to the local Toyota garage to get a clutch replacement done. Now i got a bit of a shock when she showed me the total price of it. There is some parts that i dont know what they have charged for as they always seem to abbreviate the names of parts, but here's what was on the sheet.

Labour........................240.00
Disc Assy CL................91.10
Cover Assy C...............118.16
Bearing Assy................77.32
Pump Assy, W..............93.14
Wur Tray W/Shop Cons........5.83

Now all in all with VAT included that came to €710 which in my i thought was too much. Usually i get mechanic mates to do my work so it will always be cheaper than dealerships but that shocked me. What do ye guys reckon and what do the abbreviated parts mean?

Cheers guys

Those part prices are outrageous. And yet labour seems a bit low for main dealer. Have they changed the water pump at the same time?

B4..................I don't think the water pump was done as i only came home to see receipt and dealer was closed so i couldn't query it. As far as i know it was just clutch that got replaced. It was the price of parts that shocked me. I got clutch on my beamer done for 180 euro cash in hand which i thought was cheap so i'm not really concerned with labour price :ponder:

is it a hydrolic clutch?

Prices do seem very high but the labour is cheap as chips......

Go back to them and tell them to take it out again.
That's an outrageous price for a clutch and fit.
This country still a joke

im a mechanic and that doesnt make any sence to me. what pumps would they change a bill at our place would be clutch kit - gear oil if needed then labour there isnt much more to it.
the labour is good tho for a dealer

Thats some price, would have thought €450 for replacement
clutch would have bein a fair price

:shock2: :shock2: HOLY FOOK :shock2: :shock2:
Thats some price.
I would have no problem in getting a clutch fitted in a yaris for 100 euro. But even if labour was only 100, its still a crazy price for parts

That's crazy. My mate got a clutch done in his citeron c1. It's a Yaris clutch. Labour was 150 and the Clutch was 100...

Steve.
