A letter of complaint....

Dear Mr Honda Civic Driver,

Id like to complain about your driving and the noise of your bloody car today on the M9 when i was coming home from work...... I was cruising at a nice steady 125kmh happily singing along with the radio when i passed 5 or 6 cars in a row on the inside lane! Nothing unusual there as i was in the fast lane. But as i passed the last of these cars (yours) i heard an almighty racket and a loud drone emenating from your car, As i glanced over to see what the god awful almighty racket was i realised that you where searching for "the correct gear" as you wanted to pass me out again in the wrong lane. Id like to bring your attention to the fact that the left lane is a driving lane on a motorway whilst the right lane is for overtaking...

I decided if you were going to act like that id take full advantage of it and put my foot down, I didnt search for a different gear, I didnt have to build up the revs, My nice STANDARD car just pulled away from you smoothly and freely.
I wondered while this was happening (and the noise got unbelieveably annoying but quieter as i pulled away from you) exactly how much you have spent on your Civic to make it go that badly? I mean I have had diesel cars keep up with me better...
and the fact that you have a 1.6 VTEC which is supposed to be the best of all cars around, "Nothing can stay with a civic "

Also I am disappointed that when it was odvious to you that you were trying to catch an odviously more superiour vehicle that you immediately slowed down to under the speed limit leaving me to sail off into the distance and thus hide your embarrassment.

But as the Km's built up odviously again did your bravery as i looked in my mirror again at 1 stage and there you where coming up behind me like a scalded cat, yet again when you get beside me you slow down to the same speed as me, and act like your lining up for a race, searching for gears, drowning out my radio with that exhaust again..... Generally bugging me! I see the car I was travelling behind getting to a point where i need to pull into your lane to pass it otherwise ill be inside my own breaking area. By now you have decided what gear you wanted to be in and you floor it again. Still in 5th gear I push the accelerator 3/4 of the way down again. hmm whats that.... oh instant power, up to 115kmh and you pull over (at last) and let me past and now you just tuck in behind me and follow me all the rest of the way on the motorway (thankfully I can no longer hear that stupid exhaust)

Please learn a lesson sonny, You try that kind of thing on a car with a bigger more powerful engine with your mate in the car and he is going to end up laughing at you the way i did and will continue to do for the rest of the day.

Enjoy your drive home

Neil

On the money there hammie. I dont know why but it seems every young gobshite in a honda thinks his car is an animal.

Does anyone get the scathing looks from them as you sail past as if you insulted them? :eek7: Yeah, later kid...... :subaru:

yeah all the honda drivers in kells give me that obnoxious look when i drive past them.

Ah lay off the honda's , they have their good points ...
But unfortunately in gear acceleration is not one of them due to the ridiculously low torque in them ... But when they finally hit the power band they are a good laugh ...
Wasnt there was a black one at the trackday keeping into cars with twice the BHP

There was indeed but I guess that driver was different. I just met one of the usual ones in Athlone today. It's an illuminating purple (lilac?) one and headlights set to blind everyone else on the road :angry1: even at bright daylight

i no the guy in the black civic at the track and he's only young but well able to drive,
keeped up and even past a lot of :subaru: out that day
his road car has well over 400 ponys but its that other make of car that we dont talk bout ere (7)

i love beepin wen passing civics and just lookin at there under pressure :icon_redface: faces

Unfortunate thing though, is a lot of your everyday motorists don't know the difference between a Honda and a Subaru.
In turn Subaru drivers are tarred with the same brush and not liked much by other motorists and cops for that matter.
