A letter of complaint....

ye i was driving that civic at the track day for a while, there wasnt a subaru there that could keep with it ,and dont start talking crap about cool down laps like yes were on the day lads, and its basically standard with a spoon ecu , great fun , the lad who owns it is a good pilot(and an evo owner),and i don't mind honda drivers, usually there as mad into cars as we are(so we have something in common) , yes ,ye get the odd eegit all right but the same goes no matter what badge is on a car that fella could have been in a subaru and blitzed ye off the road and we wouldnt have this thread, maybe v tecs stand out because of the loudness,if a civic comes up beside me on the m1 on me way home from work and puts the boot down to go passed me or what ever i just let him, why would ye be bothered putting the boot down so ye could write a thread and show off on isdc!! , ( might b a different type of showing off man but you are no different than that fella in the honda), your basically telling us ye wouldn't let a honda passed ye on the motorway ,and you were just after passing 6 cars, good man thats great, well done!! :clap:

As a bit of a laugh!!! It's not like we where actually racing or anything!

I was merely pointing out that while he was using every gear in the box to try out pull the wagon, the wagon was well able for the same acceleration in top gear!

Some of these young lads are twats, the amount of times they are trying to race me in all sorts of cars.. Most of the time i couldn’t bothered it’s pointless and makes me look bad in the process.

About 2/3 weeks ago some guy was up my ass for miles and when we got to good road he keep going to overtake me and stop beside me and pull back as if he wanted to race or whatever..
I wasn’t having any of it and just ignored him. 20mins later over the road he was still at it, it got to a stage where it was been reckless and endangering us both.

So I waited for the next good stretch of road, dropped to 4th gear and floored it and I left him behind. Felt great I have to say but then I started to get the worry feeling about been stopped for it by the Garda as you do.

Anyways few minutes later he was back up my ass again, almost kissing it. He wasn’t playing his old games but he just kept so close to me if I had to hit the brakes he was going to hit me.
So ended up just pulling somewhere and just let him going on ahead.

Drivers like this shouldn’t be on the roads, and its these idiots that keep doing because they just keep getting away with it.

NO WAY would would a "standrd civic with just a spoon ecu" keep up and donimate so many subarus on the track day . if any of the sti's had the driver that civic had , imagine how much quicker his "time attack " lap times would be !! :icon_blahblah:

and if ANY gobsihte comes anywhere to my back bumper , i will simply let off gas and slow right down to 10 mph so he has two options

1 back off, or i will try to pop/bang and spit unburnt fuel and the ocasional flame in his direction :whistle:
2 fcuk off :hjtwofinger:, caus i will then drop the boot and usually never see them again :icon_nana:

but i only react when being annoyed , which is rare :angel:
 
i have an 03 sti (teins , khumo intermediates, genuine 330bhp etc )and ive driven both around mondello , im quicker in the civic, civics lighter and thats it.(suits mondello) i was coming down the new m3 about a week ago and someone done the same to me all over my back bumper i slowed down he slowed , i sped up he sped up he was literally about a foot behind me i ended up pulling over and stopping in the hard shoulder to let him by. he was driving a fricken zafira , and he was about 40 with a baby seat in the back, i wasnt tryin to annoy anyone with my last post but i wouldnt tar all honda drivers with the same brush, thats all ,
 
I get what your saying riko, from my own experience most Civic's and more so Glanza's that i've ever come

across have given me "the Road Warrior" look. I drive a feckin an Impreza wagon, and most times the young fellas in the back.

So i thinking WTF! Maybe i'm getting old, i just leave them to it. I enjoyed Hammie's letter because in my opinion it gets

to the heart of what theses types of young fella's who act the maggot and paints any non-normal road car as a muppet with

a loud exhaust. But thats just my opinion.
 
i had a range of hondas and i happen to think they are the best car out there and they are very fast around mondello

the only thing i put in all my honda ownership was one clutch

the same happened me in my 94 sir by a dick in a a4 estate and what he done he deserved a beating

you get dicks in all sorts of cars and the same has happened me in the honda and subaru so i feel you pain
 
Riko - We, as subaru drivers are always complaining about being lumped into the general boy racer group so its a bit of a hypocrisy if anyone was to suggest that all civic drivers are scumbags always looking for races etc...

That being said, Hammie's first post was in jest, just for a laugh and wasn't intended to generalise all civic drivers.. Its not the type of guy he is :thumbsup:
 
I'd agree wit robbie a small number of drivers have givin subaru drivers a bad name and we get slanted for it likewise wit civics.
