Aftermarket steering wheel/nct question

Hi all. just wondering whats the situation regarding fitting an aftermarket steering wheel and passing the nct ?
I have a 01 WRX and i'd like to fit a proper omp/sparco etc but i don't know if they are allowed for the nct... due in jan 2013.
 
I had no problems with mine in classic, so i guess it should be generally fine, unless some rules have changed. Just make sure you disable SRS light on dash.
 
Rules state that, the srs light must light up when ignition is on and then go out when the engine starts. The boss kit that you need to connect to your omp wheel to your subaru has a connection where you plug in the two wires that were connected to the air bag in your original wheel. This connection fools your ecu into thinking that there is an air bag and the light on your dash works normally and keeps the nct dopes happy.

This has worked for 2 years for me on previous cars :thumbsup:
