air/oil seperator

Looks like its a slightly more complex version of an oil catch can.
A catch can stops oil mist being re circulated into the air intake.
I have one on my impreza and as far as i know its a recomended mod, especially on a modified car.
Without a catch can, the recirculated oil mist reduces the octane content of the petrol somewhat(so ive been told).
So for safety and when getting a map to increase power they are highly recomended

finally some feedback.

i dont think oil catch cans actually catches all the oil unlike the seperator wich does catch all the oil and distibutes it to the correct places but the oil catch can is better than nothing.

cheers.

I have my catch can installed with clear pipework and the incoming pipe to the can is brown with oil and the outgoing pipe is virtually clean still.
Only cost about 60euro so well worth it

Re: air oil seperator

Got mine from milsport in uk but you can them in a lot of car modifying shops or on the internet. It came with a very poor illustration on fitting and i couldn't get it to fit where it said it should. And figuring out where to connect the 2 pipes was trial end error. Lookin for a pipe that came off the side of the engine and went into the air intake pipe between the airbox and the turbo. Ill try take a couple of pictures of mine and post them up for you.
