alfas

i know this car since new and worked on it a few times. ther a cracking car in my opinion, but do need some love.

Need any info give me shout

Lovely cars. Their DPF regen is a bit iffy. Do not switch the engine off while it's in a regen!

History says stay a mile away but can they be any worse than the rest of the unreliable shite new cars on the road thee days?

I've had two friends that owned Alfas and it was the worst car owner experience of their lives.

i have worked on them for over ten years, and am huge fan (ponder why :ponder2:) but the 159 ti is a cracking car, and one the best built, early models 156 etc were a bit of a disaster!

I actually tried buy that car of the previous owner , she wouldn drive it cause was too big!

bought a kia rio instead ha

On the bright side that uses the fiat 1.9 jtd engine
I had one in an old multipla ( dont ask ) and even driving the bag outa it
It was the easiest run car I've ever owned

scrap...............................a combination of fiat and alfa do you need to know any more

Suppse like alot of new cars hard to be sure these days. I looked up the reg on revenue and the tax is coming up as 570 a year thats alot when you compare to most 2009 diesels would be between tax band b and c. Even the impreza diesels are only around the 330 mark so seems the value for money on the tax side of things isnt there

That's a bit harsh dec, and I'd expect better from you

History is history and Alfa are just like Subarus , everyone that never had one will tell you that they had chocolate engines but good owners stand buy them because they looked after them.

The fiat group now are pushing out some good reliable motors and you have to agree that not one single saloon car on the road comes close to how good the 159 looks.

Maybe if ya had one new and kept it right it would be ok but I have seen loads of alfas coming through the garage and they were all scrap gave a lot of trouble .but I do agree they look awesome ,and as for the scoobies besides engine failures from poor maintenance what trouble do they give ,alfas give a lot of annoying trouble wiring etc.

I wasn't saying scooby's give engine trouble but people have this perception that they do and most of them have never had one, same as the alfas and the hole fiat group range, I understand that they were a heap of sh*t in the 70s 80s and 90s but they have come on a lot and the new range are getting very good reviews in reliability .

They do have there quirks!! I served my time with them and from training point of view it was brill cause i learned/seen more faults with electrics than you ever would with a asian brand.

The tech in lets say a new kia/hynudai alfa were using years ago, unfortunately they just struggle get it right!

But there gettin better now
