Am I in the wrong (NCT fun and games)

Seanie sent me that, that's the roller systems they use in the NCT centers

It's fairly simple lads 1 axle is in the rollers so say the back one, the back right spins forward and the left spins back this allows the system to work safely so it protects the drivetrain and brake system
Cheers Gordon, this is why I posted , so much info online and most of it you cannot trust, nothing to beat knowledge and experience of people who know their stuff. I've learned something new and it looks like I was wrong.

That's twice now, I remember the other time I was wrong.. 1996 it was, a Tuesday 😁

To wrap this up - this was bugging me so much I booked in for a retest in a different centre. And guess what, perfect, passed without even an advisory.
I didn't do a damn thing in the meantime, so I do think they messed up the first time. Anyway, 40 quid extra for a retest, a good end result, and learned something knew about awd and the NCT.

I did make sure to stress it was awd handing in the keys so who knows whether that was it or the first place just didn't do the test right. guess I'll just make sure to always tell them that in future for peace of mind. (oh and Gordon - yer bang on, I was watching like a hawk and as you said, front wheels no movement, back wheels moved in opposite direction to each other)

Funny you mention this, had my car go into the NCT centre in naas for its test. Ensured the handbrake was working well within test tolerances, had spent an evening carefully going through the car. Told the main supervisor at the counter that it was AWD and he instructed strictly the car was to be brake tested outside. Tester said there was a handbrake imbalance. I had guessed it was to get me to spend €40. A week later I bring the car back WITH ZERO CHANGE and the exact same tester sits in the car, performing the test outside and tells me it passed with flying colours.
