Fokin hell, I have enough.

A woman has reversed - straight into my scooby. It all happened in parking space at my work.

At least she was decent enough and called reception to leave her details and contact number. I rang her and she agreed to cover the cost - if its reasonable.

well, its just a wing and a corner light that need to be replaced.. the bumper repaint only, but still a couple of hundreds € methinks :ponder2:

Question: is the wing in Type-R standard for all classic imprezas or is it lighter/thinner/made of gold  ?

Hope she won't change her mind as I don't have nothing written in letter :ponder2:

Im raging! :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

Sorry to hear.. i hope she will honor her word and not back out when you give her the repair price.

Sorry to hear man, If she is admitting liability get it in writing and in fairness whatever it costs to fix she has to pay, otherwise contact her insurance company

Wing would be handy enough to come by from breakers. Cheap too.

Andy.. to be honest .. Im so feckin tired already Im not gonna search for the parts and stuff on my own. I had it grand and now why should I search for second hand, auld wing ...
Im going to bring the car to the garage, get the quote and hand it to the woman who caused all of this.

New wing is something around 60 Euros from micksgarage.ie

http://www.micksgarage.ie/carspec.a...l=&year=&engine=&petroldiesel=&mode=drilldown

Last year at the same time my scooby was crashed by my friend.. not his fault but I was without a car most of the year.. as I had to source the parts on my own and then wait for money, as I couldn't afford to pay from my pocket.

not anymore thanks..

I had damage in the same place on mine a few years ago although not as bad. Had to get both wings, bonnet and bumper sprayed to get good colour match. Its the spraying that will be the bulk of the cost.

bad out man.....

had to lol when i pulled into a car park the other day and took up 2 spaces, and a woman looks over saying 'can you park?'... i replied 'hope you can drive'

fu*k that. Pay her a visit and get her insurance details. You have reception there as a witness that she admitted she crashed in to the car, sure how else would you get her details and know she did it? If it's reasonable she'll cover costs? Me bollix, if her driving was reasonable she wouldn't have landed herself in a mess like this. You'll need the whole front end re-sprayed. Otherwise it'll just look poxy and if you ever want to sell on you'll only end up getting questions if the paint is different tones.

There is CCTV and I have 2 witnesses (the security guys) . She left the place after the incident as she claimed later she'd been in a rush.. but then she called and spoke to one of the security guards. She left her Apple badge number and her name and phone number..
I gave her a ring and she was very apologetic. She said she would cover the cos if it's reasonable.. I've told her look, my car is not a usual honda you can buy parts for just like that.. and let her know then that Im gonna bring it to the workshop and get the evaluation for the damage which she will have to cover. She agreed. :dontknow:

Sorted. Get her details and give them to your insurance company. Hopefully what will happen is your insurance company will pay out for all your repairs and then they'll pursue her to reclaim the money.

Sorry to hear Codders... that's some bad luck! :icon_sad:

Wings are the same on all classics... no difference what so ever. Just get a genuine OEM one from Subaru rather than Micks Garage.

I'd be getting brand new parts and getting whatever neededs to be painted to make the car look like new again. Do not let her winge about the price... if she does just tell her you'll be contacting your insurance company and letting them deal with it and the claim through her insurance!

I would advise getting the whole front painted... and by the best painter you can find.. as it'll wreck your head if the finish isn't perfect!

Hope you get sorted soon!

BTW... check for any damage behind wing... ie... your IC spray bottle if you still use it... air induction pipework etc!!

just going to do a rough price up if i was doing the job just to show what the cost might be

new wing: 59.50 (from somora.ie)
new indicator: 29.50 (from somora.ie)
drivers door, new wing, bonnet, bumper and passenger wing to be painted: 3-4 hours labour on that @ 55-65 euro an hour (depending on garage)
paint and materials used: 250-300 euro
striping and fitting labour: 3-4 hours @ 55-56 euro an hour

so as you can see it all add's up so i'd say she is in for a shock and that is not with out finding anymore damage that might be hiding under the wing

Thanks a lot Jamie and dannyb!

I went to Brennans garage today in Cork, the very same who was fixing my scoob's body last year.

The owner, who is a sound chap and knows me quite well said:

-new genuine wing 119 + VAT - Im not going to go for a cheap ones..
-corner lamp 53 + VAT
-Labour and painting 300 + VAT (wing, door and bumper to do the color matching)
-Paint materials 100 + VAT

altogether €650

I advised the woman about the total and she was expecting something around €250 instead :icon_lol: She said she was going to contact her insurance company and let me know. :ponder2: Can they force me to repair the car in their authorized garage? I don't want to.. as I don't trust anyone else.. :snooty:

You choose who fixes it... they can get there own authorised repairer to assess the damage to query price... but you get final say in who fixes it. You can be sure there own repairer will probably come back with an even higher bill, so it may work in your favour.

Don't be pressured by her or her insurance co.... she's in the wrong.... and your entitiled to have your car repaired by whoever you like and to whatever standard you like!
