Sunday Drivers
Hey folks,
Not a subaru driver, yet. Hopefully later this year.

I admit to being a bit of a petrolhead but never had a Subaru of any sort. Never even sat in one !

You can all look forward to lots of silly questions from me since I know practically nothing about these cars.
Cheers.

welcome along man

what suabaru have you got in mind??

what have I got in mind ?
Well, like I said, I know next to nothing about 'em and I 'm here to find out.

Maybe this should be a new thread, but sure what the hell.....

Before I start, please nobody take any offence to anything I say wrongly here..... See above.. I'm new.

For the past 2 winters, myself, the missus & the 2 whipper-snappers have been stuck at home during the snow & ice.
The family car is automatic, rwd. Can't even get up the gentle slope of the driveway.
The other daily is a kangoo van, only 2 seats, but fwd and like a mountain goat.

In the garage is my pride & joy, a nice black impact bumper 1975 911 (engine is a 2.7 MFI like the famous '73 Carrera RS, Flat 6  ), that aint going nowhere. Ever.

Keeping it company indoors is a very nice MK1 Golf GTI (1.8 Campaign) that will shortly be for sale after some very minor tlc.

I'm thinking I'll get about 3.5k for the golf, so that is my budget for a 4/5 seater car that can get through the winter weather next year.

I've looked at jeeps, but they just arent for me.

Next obvious "thing" to get through the snow is a 4wd/awd subaru. So, Here I am.

Educate me. Impreza, Turbo/NA, Forester, Legacy ? I dunno. You tell me !

Hope the aboev isnt too long winded & makes some sort of sense.

Cheers.

As an aside, Heard a nice flat 4 growl this evening while out & about. Sure enough, spotted a gorgeous red impreza getting some tlc in a driveway, (gortlee area) Sounded fantastic :)

Pics of other cars will follow in due course
