Any advice on this Legacy?

Went to see it Today because the owner is interested in a swap for My 8 seater.
He didn`t import it , bought it here .
He said He joined the club last Year and attended 2 meetings .

The whole story is very confusing to Me.
The car is probably one of the cleanest Legacy I have ever seen. The only problem I found on it is some rust on both sides , down in the corner behind rear doors. Interior is absolutely mint . It`s even more surprising because the mileage is actually 230.000 KM !

Engine bay is very clean but I couldn`t say anything about engine condition as My knowledge is very limited .

Drove the car , gearbox working perfect as everything else in the car. Really like the paddle shift.
The owner showed Me a dyno print ( No company name or anything to identify where it was dyno-d) claiming 330 BHP but He said the car is now 500 HP :cuckoo: after a remap was done in the north by a well know company . however He couldn`t remember the name.

I know it is a stronger car than My Impreza was but it doesn`t feel any stronger or quicker.
So , I don`t know what to think ........................
 
I know what I think, that lad is full of sh*t!!!
500bhp??!!! From a map, get the name of them there will be a queue outside tomorrow!!! Run by alladin and his genie friend probably!
 
I know, and that`s the reason I am confused.
The car looks very clean and straight despite the high mileage and strange owner.
Did You ever see Him Dec ? He is from Mullingar
 
Did he try and sell you magic beans as well? The cleanest Legacy ever but with rust? So when people actually say the clean they mean its been washed?

This guy is full of sh1t to put it bluntly. Walk away there are plenty of legacys out there the only positive i can see is its been washed
 
Hey guys I got that legacy yes your man was full of sh*t. But the car spoke for itself. And I got incontact with the guy that originally imported it and found out all the info. The guy that sold the car to the mullingar guy even said he was talking sh*t.
 
Its standard 280 but mapped to shell vpower 98. Which is a pain since I cant get 98 up here so im going to remap it to 95.
I got the small rust patchs done but they where just mild surface ones.
