Any Audi/VW mechanics fault code p0204

Anyone any experience with Audi/VW. I'm thinking Graham possibly if I remember correctly.

Anyway have a audi a3 1.6 petrol. Has been acting up recently pretty much like it's misfiring, running on 3 cylinders. P0204 fault code came up which relates to injector cylinder 4. Had a local mechanic have a look and replaced the injector however the problem is still there. Just wondering if there is anything else it may be or if anyone has had any experience with this before. Any help appreciated.

Could be a few things!

He should have swapped injectors first to see if fault swapped cylinders/injectors.
Costly enough I'm sure for new injector.

It's basic stuff really to narrow it down.

As above and then swap leads/coils.. Check for same.


Are plugs good? Is oil leaking into plug cylinder?
Timing ok?
Compression test?
Oil in coolant?
Power to injector?

Check basics and get back to me.

If the code is injector related and not misfire than it is either injector or wiring/connector or ecu would have nothing to do with misfire or compression, as graham said first step is swap injectors and see if if fault follows injector or stays with same cylinder, if it does not follow injector it is bad connection or wiring issue or ecu
