Hi Folks my young lad blew the head gasket on his Toyota Corolla 1.4 Auto this week and one garage is asking 650 inc new water pump to repair now he is a student in Cavan and I dont have that kind of money at the min any advice could I sell it as is or a new engine or what many thanks John L. :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:
 
Does the head need to be skimmed, if it doent Im sure i can do it for you if your stuck,might have a recon pump knocking around the garage.I will take a look in the morning :thumbsup:
 
leave it with me till tomorrow see have i got a pump first and see how much kev will do the skimming for,But all in thats not a bad price for the skimming and the new pump and labour,but hopefully get it done a good bit cheaper for yeah. :thumbsup:

Thanks for that but as I say if its not worth donig the lad may sell the car as is but thanks you all chat 2morro. :thumbsup:
 
Hi john sorry im only getting back to you long day,sick of european cars so hard to work on,The pump i have is to big after a few phone calls to the machine shop we use,They reckon 650 isnt to bad,a complete engine for one would only set youb 400-500,So its up to you what you wanna do next,if i can help just give us a buzz :thumbsup:
