Octane Boostaholics
I was asked to post what was actually wrong with this so here goes. If anyone thinks this is me being overly fussy, then feel free to say so...
Crashed on the passenger side, it has had a completely new wing and the bonnet has been resprayed as well. It has also been hit in the rear, possibly reversed into a pole and the metal around the lock was never straightened properly and has some surface rust. The aluminium bootlid has been replaced with a standard steel item and fitten incorrectly so that the paint is rubbed off the lip of the bumper and inside of the bootlid. I also suspect the headlights were replaced at the time of the crash with standard UK items (with orange insert removed) and an aftermarket HID kit installed which is quite a messy job imo.
Interior is not condemned, nothing a major scrub head to toe wouldn't sort but reminds me of a farm vehicle the way it has been treated. The facia radio surround looked to have been butchered with a knife or similar with the amount of scratches and goudges out of the plastic. Inside the boot looks to have been used for transporting anything and everything, scratched and chipped everywhere with surface rust formed or beginning to form in a lot of areas.
Before driving, we spotted the remnants of coolant which had forced its way out of the overflow bottle, also overfull. Suspected the system running at quite high pressure. On the test drive, the turbo screamed like it was about to die there and then and then engine was extremely noisy also so I suspect 1 or both are on their way to the grave.
Exhaust is rotten off the car nearly, muffler is cracked and the pipes don't look far away from corroding through.
Also, not 1 panel on the car was mark/scratch/dent free. Rear shocks were also knocking.
Not bad for a 30k mile car, I'm sure there's more but can't remember off the top of my head right now.
