Anyone here know this Spec C?

It was owned by 2 members on here previously - nick spec c owned it from new & then KenC bought it & ran for a couple of months before moving on.

Ken is probably best to give you a good insight to the current condition & what it does/doesn't need

Why is it been sold again joh car dales in mayo were selling and now this guy is unless they think it would be sold quicker not associated to a garage :dontknow:

I was talking to the owner about it there lately, it's his car, and he left it into JoH to sell it.. So that's why it appears to be for sale with different people, but it's actually not...

I had got the map sorted for E5, and he since went to a group buy up North with Bob Rawle and got it mapped for 95 as he had no E5 close to him..
He told me the car just is not getting used and it's a waste just sitting there..

Cheers for the reply ken didn't know they were trying to sell it for the guy,i'd have it in the morning if i had the cash always liked that car

Know of a couple of lads who went to see it and left not long afterwards but best to see it for yourself

Yeah I know of one lad aswell but then again he is a complete time waister so that doesn't suprise me to be honest.

Tbh.. After owning the car, putting aside the shitty things I had to get sorted on it, I think they are just over rated, and no way are they worth 7-10k more than a Widetrack Blob, whether it be Jap or Uk...
There just isn't that much difference in them.. You are paying for the name and exclusiveness, and they are not really that exclusive as afaik they weren't limited to a production number...
Horses for courses and all... But I learned my lesson.... Blobeye Widetrack for me all day long and save 7-10k

In fairness and I agree with you ken on it but these cars(spec c) only come alive on track were the weight and suspension and extra rpm stand out

I was passenger with Nick a couple years back in this going to Scoobyfest and it was savage. Whatever small finicky bits needed doing when Ken bought it (rung exhaust nuts & bolts?) and then the remap for E5 then the remap for 95 octane.

It was a brilliant car so what's happened to it that people are walking away from it when viewing? Simon & Bob wouldn't have mapped it if there was something serious amiss and aswell as that, I seriously doubt Ken would have organised the group map and bothered bringing the car to Simon if it wasn't ready to be mapped.

If I win the Eurmillions tonight I'm buying it.

I don't think anyone is knocking the car it's the price there talking about . it not a Car that could be used daly as it's too raw and with no sound deadening not something that the family could enjoy on a Sunday Drive or holiday and thats what wrong . Very few lads looking for a weekend car or a track toy cos if they were it would be sold long ago

Really? I thought it was comfy and feic all cabin noise for what it is! Me and Nick were even able to talk to each other sure!

Ah i know you could talk each other its not that noisey but compared to another 16k car in that class. I would love it as a family car but herself and the kids would be using it most if the time it wouldnt work

Very little weight difference in them, that spec c had aircon, all electrics, etc etc so there isn't much difference In it than a normal sti..

It's mapped so is quick and there is a bit more raw feel to driving it... But that doesn't warrant 7-10k more of a price tag...
You could have 2 Widetrack Blobeyes for the same money..

Hi, I am the car owner. Just to clear a few bits up on the car. Its exactly as Ken said in the quote above.my mate at JOH car sales was selling the car for me. I have it back now and selling it myself. I am the third owner. First nick then ken and now me. Garage never owned it.

Remapped it for 95 Ron as ken said by bob Rawle.
I Bought it as a weekend car and only put 4000 miles on it since I bought it about 15 months ago I think.I have a van for work so use that all week. Wife has a golf and we use that for any family trips as spec c is not the most comfortable.Selling as I would much prefer a regular everyday STI. I have a 18 month old baby too so it's just not suitable. She is rattled around in the back :icon_biggrin: it's too raw. I may p/ ex for regular sti. Lived in Uk for 8 years and I have always had weekend cars.previous to this I had f10 BMW, e60 M5, r33 gtr, tt supra, bug eye sti

Unless they went to see the car at JOH car sales because nobody has come to view the car while I have been selling it. A guy that came to JOH car sales offered 15k for it.I can guarantee the Car is in perfect condition and as I bought it from Ken. Generally I think Anyone that buys a spec c has a love of cars and will endeavour to look after it.

Hope this clears the mystery on the car up. I don't think I can put the car up for sale on the for sale section as I have not enough posts. If nobody objects any chance anyone would do it for me that be great. Be good to get an active member here buy it. Perhaps nick or ken may stick it up for me as they are previous owners.
