anyone know this blob

if it were me, with say 8k in the kitty and wanting to buy, Spend 6500 or 7k on a car, needing a few bits sorting, get them sorted and you know what you have. I dont think there is mint examples of these cars out there, they are not that type of car really. Ireland isnt a kind place on cars so your going to get cars needing a bit of tlc.
I know there is scrap out there aswell, but if you get a car thats good and straight panel wise, has a good engine and box and is going well, well then you have a basis to work with, rather than a yoke tnats mint looking but has had a front cut done or a rear cut, ive seen both a Blob and a Bug in last 2 yrs that looked mint but had serious damage done and repaired..
Id personally rather but a car needing brake disks or boot lid with a dent rather that a Cut and shut needing nothing

ye totally agree ken that's exactly what he is thinking,as you say 6.5-7k and spend a bit on it,i'd be the ame i'd rather have mechanical repairs than a car looking good but has been wrapped around a tree cheers for the feedback ken appreciate it

If anyone was watching donedeal recently the 04 red one with the 571 reg appears to have sold. It was a 50k mile car with 2 owners. It was advertised for €5800 up until sat but its gone now. It looked a really honest car but the colour held it back. This should be a bench mark for pricing.

Yea sure when you have one you bench mark yours at that sure

I think Red is one of the nicest colours in them, Very Rare aswell.

Believe me Ken i have plenty of stuff here that is standing an absolute fortune in comparison to what it worth now. People have to be realistic. That red car sold for early 6's a couple of months ago and it looked good value then and it could only make a max of €5800 now. Thats market forces at play supply and demand. That was a 50k miles car 1/2 owners compared to a car with double the miles.
In fairness everybody is entitled to an opinion.

just sit and wait for one with the big ends gone, many people these days dont have the money to get big jobs done. once the shell is clean ur laughing and you also have that peace of mind with a fresh build...

i sow that one on donedeal too. looked lovely, but damn.... RED? on subaru? i was thinking maybe gold alloys would fix it a bit, but its still red. :) its funny how car color can fu*k up its value.

You could be waiting a long long time, dont think ive ever seen a Newage with big end trouble up for sale, far better engine than the gc8

ken i'd have to agree with you they're a far better engine sure look at the guys up north and in uk running about 400 on standard internals with no problems.we looked at this car this evening and after a good look around it my mate bought it.he's very happy with it only needing a clean and a good buff.
@ dec iv'e never heard of them this car seems to be mechanically sound with no knocks or crash damage

People that dont like red Blobs have serious issues :cuckoo:
White is the only colour for wheels on them.... imagine white Revolutions... porn
