Greetings chaps, I wonder if you can help me,

I am thinking of while I'm over in the uk, en route to my location to call in and get Bob Rawle to map my car!
Now I need to land in UK with a full tank of E5 so I can drive to him, and have enough E5 left for him to map it (no point mapping to Vpower or other UK fuels as we don't have access

So I need somewhere in the Wexford area, not to much of a deviation from my route to fill up, as I will be filling up back in Ennis, Co Clare so its a far old treck and no chance of making it all the way to bob one one tank and have enough left to map it

Hope you can help

Cheers

Chris

Not sure about one down there but there's a few heads down that direction that will be able to tell you one way or the other.

If not, you can get Tesco 99 over there which is the same as e5, or a couple of jerry cans would do ya

Thanks for the replies guys!
its so much cheaper to do it in the UK, and I'm over there anyway so I'd be foolish to not seize the opportunity

Is tesco 99 the same! I know the RON is the same, but what about the makeup of the fuel? E5 being a 5% ethanol blend, it might make it defferent to map too etc?

No that's refined petrol only with different additives, better petrol but not available here. The only equivalent to maxol e5 over there is the Tesco 99

Thanks man!

Would you recommend mapping it to Vpower as its slightly less RON so that should I get caught out I'm running less risk using 95? And also when driving on the continent, say when I drive to the Nurburgring its all 98 octane there, aside from 'ring side where you can get 102 :D

But actually run it day to day on E5 obviously when I'm over here

maxol in gorey all right but dunno about further down wexford , jerry cans as robbie said is best option

I thought V power in the UK was 99, no?

If i was in your shoes, I would fill in gorey if its within reach of your route to the port. Take a jerry can with you filled with E5 also for the fuel you'll use while actually mapping. Part fill with Tesco 99 if you get stuck. Get the car mapped or E5 as that's what will be in it 99% of the time.

For your ring trip, fill with 98 on the way over and if you are planning on giving it socks on the autobahn, then throw a bit of booster in it and use the 102 while at the ring.

Thats what I'd do if i was you anyway

theres lots in the wexford area. 1 in gorey town , 1 in ballyedmond on the gorey/wexford road only 100 yards from my house :049: 1 just outside wexford near castlebridge and 1 in wexford town just up from the talbot hotel on the way to rosslare..

1 in Enniscorthy, 20 miles from Rosslare port, think there is is a Maxol in Trinity st in Wexford still aswell

more choices in uk for better fuel shell bp etc i would not even trust maxol here i mean ireland like ripped off for everything imo
