as above lads any one here planning a new project for the new year ,track car ,road car ,rally car ,drift car etc just wondering is there much goin on in the sheds of Ireland doesn't have to be Subaru or even a car what are ye up to :mechanic:

ive a 96 v limited wrx around the side of the gaff that I was giving to my brother but I decided to keep it for meself,
going to drop an engine into it in the new year and take it from there.....

don't know what ill do with it yet dec but im down in cork so any track days are a fair ol trip with a car on a trailer :wall: :icon_cry:
could do a few local rally stages in the early hours though

ye its a fair trek up alright what about hillclimbs any down there ,I think every one has a few stages like that around their area :changinggear: :clocks: :multijump:

there was a local rally sprint in whitechurch about 10 mins from my gaf off the old mallow road but no 4wd/awd cars allowed...due to the ression etc it hasent been run in a couple of years.
it was used as part of a stage in the cork 20 back in the late 70's and early 80's....

have to say the car is spot on besides the engine, just missing an airbox cover and a passenger side door sill.....
one owner since imported in 07 and parked up since 2010....

put her back the way she was in 1996 man it would look brilliant not many left now so its worth saving

Not a new project for me but im stripping the 555 car back and going full group a cage, the engine is out at the minute and that is getting abit of work done on it, v3/4 Sti heads and a bigger turbo, also new 18s wheels and sparco prodrive seats, I have the dash out as well and that will be flocked, also doing a general tidy of the body, there's a few dents to sort out, also going to run new ecu with antilag and going to go for a 5 speed dccd box with r180 diff, shafts and two pot rear brakes, I'm also going to nct it and stick it on the road

It will probably be 2015 if not 2016 before it sees the road and at that stage it will be classic insurance, unless I win the lotto and it will be ready in may next year! Lol

Yes you can once ( all the rally cars have to have a nct)the cage is bolted in as well as welded. Don't ask me why but this is what I have been told by a lad working in the nct centre,

I've had a novel idea of building an S5 WRC rep. :p

Joking aside... Planning on getting back to working on the car in the new year. Lots to do with interior... Engine bay and underside... And if funds allow I'd hope to have my remaining panels next year. Not making any promises... But if its not ready to go to for paint by the end of next year... I'll be giving up and buying an Evo!

if my wagon sells after Christmas im contemplating buy this or similar
ford-fiesta-S884541-9.jpg

then buy one of these

and shoe horn it in to make it look like this

im probably mad and I need to sit down and work out some figures but im just thinkin that the newest mk1 fiesta will be 30yrs old in January so is eligible for vintage tax and a very simple nct so it would be 50 euro a year tax and weigh 700 kilos and have 170 bhp and a 6 speed box ,plenty fast and reliable and serious fun what do ye think I can do it all myself except body work so that is why im thinking the one on pistonheads as it fully restored and looks how I would want it so it would be all mechanical for me to do :dontknow:
