G gc8aido Petrolheads Jun 26, 2009 #1 Story lads, looking at an Apexi Power Fc Ecu and commander online for 450euro from japan for the Type R v3. Was removed from a GC8 wrx v3 ej20.. There any concerns i should have buying used and it definitely gonna suit the type r sti? Am i better with SIMTEK?? Cheers

AndyC Well-known member ISDC Club Member Jun 26, 2009 #2 if your car is a Version 3 type R then it will work but you will need to get it mapped for your car.

AndyC Well-known member ISDC Club Member Jun 26, 2009 #4 I had the Power FC and Commander in my old Type R. Great ECU and I had no problems with it. If you have the money then go Simtek.

Thanks for the heads up lads, turns out the apexi i was looking at was a ball of Yer man is a schemer and changes his profile on ebay every so often, got an e-mail from ebay warning me away from him..
