Apple Green Petrol

Anyone seen all apple stations are apparently selling E5 now... Says they've been rolling it out and now all their petrol is E5...

Was up in the Ballinteer station on Sunday filling the gf's car when I saw the sign saying with added ethanol... Same mixture as Maxol, so i presume same octane rating... I already sent them an email first thing this morning to confirm but have had no responce yet.

Hadn't heard of anyone mentioning it before... Anyone else hear this or have i just been walking around with my eyes closed?

use that petrol station myself and im for sure my car runs better when i do compared to any other brand or station

Hello Robbie,

It looks like the same mix as Maxol E5 / Tesco 99 (as sold in the UK)

It would be interesting to see what they come back with

Cheers,

Michael

Closest station to me too in clonmel , and they are a cent cheaper than tesco ....
but i have noticed that i do get a few extra miles from a tank of their stuff than i do with anywhere else ....
its only 30-40km a tank , but its makes all the difference after a year

there is no maxol station where i live and had a red light on this morning so said feck it i'l stick €20 in it as i would only be around town , but the car is running as well as it would on maxol , maybe it is the same because Topaz f**** the car up all together for week or 2

I'd like to see someone with a knocklink try it out to see if they get any det... or if someone wants to give me a knocklink, I'll try it out

Why did i think you had one ,

Hey lads i work for applegreen and can conferm its e5 petrol, nothing else.. anymore info just ask
[/quote]

Same a Maxol? What octane rating have applegreen given it?b And is it in every station nationwide?

Lads i have knock link and sure i'll give it a try, but as above i still get knock at high rev's, but sure if it's the same and cheaper good news all round.

All of our petrol is E5, with a mix of 5% ethanol to 95% petrol. The use of E5 in place of standard petrol, decreases carbon emissions by 3.4%, and the product can be used in all current petrol engines and doesn’t affect the engine warranty.
Thats what we have advertised on our web page now..im gettin a delivery of petrol tommorow morning and will also ask the driver to double confirm this..but yes it is in all our petrol stations  hope thats some info for ye lads

I'll tyr it in my 2.5, with the Power FC hand commander it displays digital knock number, so might be a bit more accurate  I would get an engine check light for Detenation at about 65 on the hand commander
