Apple green with added ethanol

Sunday Drivers
Hi All.

I was in my local Apple green garage in Baldoyle today putting unleaded petrol in
my wife's car, when I looked at the petrol pump and it said ( unleaded plus with added Ethanol)
does anyone know how this compares to the quality of the Maxol E5, would it be as good ???
would it be good enough for a Rev D Legacy ?.

Thanks Dave, thats great to know, because the Apple green is less than half
The distance for me to drive to, than the Maxol. And its 4 cent cheaper a litre.

not again!!!! :shock2: the old Maxol VS Applegreen thread

from what i have gathered in the past, Apple may be a 5% ethanol like Maxol but it doesn't mean its the same RON rating, thats what iv been told, i have both in my town, so its no bother

until i get more clarification ill continue to use Maxol

Last time this came up I read a few different reports where the fuel was tested, apple green comes up at 95 ron and maxol comes in around 98 ron

Maxol is the better fuel

as i post every time this comes up
my car drives better and gets more mileage from apple green
i know i am of a minority
but im convinced off it

Good Afternoon

The RON rating associated with our fuel is to standard ISO EN 5164 and is a 95 RON rating.

I'm sorry that this does not meet your requirements

Hilary

Yeah.
Just after being talking to Hilary from Apple green head office this morning, she confirmed that fuel

I emailed them as well.
Think there getting a lot of questions.
Should make it clearer on there website.

Found this on your website.

''All of our petrol is E5, with a mix of 5% ethanol to 95% petrol. The use of E5 in place of standard petrol, decreases carbon emissions by 3.4%, and the product can be used in all current petrol engines and doesn't affect the engine warranty.''

What guaranteed octane rating is the petrol on your forecourts?
With E5?''
