Arches butchering my tyres!!

Hi lads,

Just put 18 inch wheels on my B4...now I can't go over a ramp or have anyone in the back without that horrible CCUUUHHHHH!! noise. How can I get rid of this? Stock suspension by the way. Some people say roll the arches!! Duno if I have to put coilovers on it or what!

come back to wheel size/offset and tyre size.

B4 have no problem running 18's. Same as new age impreza.

id personally never consider rolling arches in a road going subaru.

In rolling the arches do ya not run the risk of cracking the paint?

If done incorrectly. Rolling your arches just leads to the path of felt laaaad.

Don't quite get ya sorry! Would you recommend anyone in Dublin...preferably south!

Felt spec vags with 18's, 19's and rolled "RS" arches and go "boooo". There's a chap on DTD who has done a few in his spare time and is yet to have complaints. If your paint is in good nick it should be fine. Personally I'd go for suspension before rolling. Most body places will make you sign a waiver saying they're not responsible if your paint cracks and/or spider webs.

I think you need to examine the wheels themselves like dave says.

What wheels are they? What is the wheel width? What is the offset? And what size are the tyres?

I ran 18's on my old B4 and there was no problem with rubbing at all. That was with 225/45 tyres.

215 normally on B4 for a start

Need to check wheel width and et offset?

225 shouldn't be a problem though should it? I know he has 18's but I've 17's on my DC5 and it's lowered with 225's rather than the factory 215 and I get no problems at all. Is the B4 suspension really that soft/bouncy that the tyres would hit the arch?
