I think doing it while theres sombody in the back is a bit much and its just gona make them more determined to catch people speeding god help anybody living in that area from now on

Why are ye so supprised!!!...... Are ye not paying out enough money on taxes yet??????????????
These vans are not there to stop us from speeding or to stop deaths on the road.Their is a web site to tell you were they might be for gods sake....Think i might slow down in these hot spots too.
The goverment told us that these vans are not a "REVENUE MAKING EXCERCISE"..... BALLS!!
How much did they cost us the tax payer ????
Sick of people on high moral ground.......We are taking it in the ass every day on the road from bad mannered men & women in the traffic force.
Not to mention the high road tax we pay for the crap roads we get in return for our very hard earned money.
When the budget comes out next month hopefully they will set fire to the crowd above in the Dail too.
We are great to moan about stuff be a lot of us lack to the beans to do something about it.
I dont agree with mad high speeds but come on.
Just to let people know, this van was not parked in known accident black spot, it was also parked on private property and the owner had asked the van driver to move off his property and he did not
Cheers

That bit didnt make the news. I got the impression that that particular van was just a survey van to estimate the potential for the later placement of a "speed enforcement camera" at that spot.

News also mention curtains being set alight. Curtains? so they do get paid to sleep while the camera works away in the back.

Sorry Mick, I don't agree with lighting the van with the fooker in it but I agree with what was done. I've spent the most of the past 2 weeks looking at my spedo and for vans on the hard sholder instead of concentrating on the road. I'm a safe driver with a clean licence and while in the truck I'm n the job 100% but it's easy to be 3-4kms over the spped limit on a N road with a limit of 80kph and to have a van tucked into a gateway to nab you has fook all to do wth road safety.
It's my Licence, My livelyhood, My morgage, my money that I'm worried about, Not some sneaky fooker that was too dumb to get into the gaurds, so now photos people on their way to and from work, little over the speed limit.
Bad enough to get shafted on taxes, Road and income, but now they want to take more off us that are luckey enough to have a job.
Sorry for the rant ut I'm a passionate Lorry Driver and this is one of the final nails in the coffin of this Job.
Cheer
John

IN my opinion burning the van with someone in it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of line....
I dont care what line of work the fella happens to be in......

John

I do agree.... I drive 60 miles to work and 60 miles home again every day
always at stupid times of the day

and it can be hard to keep the proper concentration on the road when your constantly looking at the speedo

Im all for road safety...... but this campaign doesnt seem to be about that at all

Hello John,

You like me, do not agree with these tasks & methods of capturing "Speeding", motorists

However, I did grow up with a next door neighbor who lost his parents through Arson :wall:

It is just my opinion, that Arson should not be used when revolting against policing measures such as this

Cheers,

Michael

dont agree burning the van with a lad in it,but fare play to them for burning it,hope every last one gets burned to the ground,we are getting it up the arse every way we can, road safety, speed, balls
in europe when they find a black spot, they fix it--in ireland they put up a sign, there a shower of sneaky money grabing c..ts

down side of the van being burnt is
its cost 70,000 euro of damage!!!!
money we will no doubt end up paying again out of our taxes
