Arson attack on speed camera van

Michael Spec C said:
Hello John,

You like me, do not agree with these tasks & methods of capturing "Speeding", motorists

However, I did grow up with a next door neighbor who lost his parents through Arson :wall:

It is just my opinion, that Arson should not be used when revolting against policing measures such as this

Cheers,

Michael

I'm sure we all agree with you that arson is not the way to go. Some poor dude getting smoked out of it while trying to do his job but...

Are you aware of how f**ked this country is?? We've dark days ahead of us and the people who are (supposedly) pulling the strings haven't got a f**king clue what they're doing. We're all f**cked and we're all broke. They're lowering wages and raising taxes. They're cutting benefits and giving themselves pay increases and bonuses. They're evicting people from their homes and neglecting the old and vulnerable. I could go on and on here...

Somethings got to give my friend..

"Taking the f**king p*ss" is a huge understatement if you ask me.. I'm furious with this government. And if I ever run into Sean Fitzpatrick down a dark alleyway? God is the only thing that'll save him...

Makes me ashamed to be Irish.

Rant over?? Not even nearly...

down side of the van being burnt is
its cost 70,000 euro of damage!!!!
money we will no doubt end up paying again out of our taxes

Thats no problem, we are picking up the tab anyway, sure we got a loan of 85 billion so were flush at moment:)

If that had of been the cop gatso van, would that have been considerd Festive BBQ HOG???

The goverment told us that these vans are not a "REVENUE MAKING EXCERCISE"..... BALLS!!

i totally agree, there was a marked van parked in the Damastown Industrial estate on a straight road where i have never seen an accident in my year of driving that road.
I checked the garda site and its not on the map..... its only to make more money

more likely in the insurance premium this time around...one way or the other

Lads and ladies, not in agreement with these vans in easy target areas but definately in black spot areas!! Will ye just have a closer look at the picture of where the van was parked. IOn the right hand side of the picture.....Is that not a cross marking the spot where someone died?!?

I agree that the new vans are more trouble than there worth, like a couple of people have said i too have found myself looking at my speedo more than the road and i dont speed most of the time anyway , but like that it's very easy to tip over the limit just a little, and lets face it the vans dont listen to reason, i also agree that it's just a money making racket, i would be of the thinking that one this should be in the members area, but also they should let the guy in the van time to get out before burning it :icon_headbang: i hope they all get it, not all deaths on the roads are because of speed , what about drink driving or arse holes tailgaiting, the cameras dont stop that, and the cross in the vid could be for any number of reasons that did'nt include speeding

70 grand a pop because our police force refuses to police. why should they our gevernment refuses to govern.
did any of theses fuk'n idiots think to invest in some gritt or salt. answer is yes they did but they have been spreading it all summer
so that they get the same budget this year. wake up people.....
we should be burning goverment buildings not vans.

It's nice to see people standing up for their freedom and ours. As long as someone isn't in the van I have no problem with this type of thing.

He was asleep in the van i'd say. :ponder2: I think the vans a sh*t but burning them is a bit much especially whe the operator is in it. :cuckoo:
doubt if it was a fag sur your not allowed smoke in your work place lol. as for burning the thing, I dont think it will achieve anything. just wondering if anyone voicing their anger above will attend the protest march today? if so fair play your entitled to your rant

Im in agreement to an extent with gary and john, im constsantly looking at my speedo not that i give it nails at all i consider myself to be a decnet driver and respect the speed laws but c"mon if your a few over thats just plain blatant money making. Getting back to my point well more as in question, lads do you know or think do the dirty shower of scum we call our government get these points and fines, or more to the point there chauffer drivers?? Somehow i think that slips through the cracks for these s**t heads.

in europe when they find a black spot, they fix it--in ireland they put up a sign, there a shower of sneaky money grabing c..ts
be careful what you wish for:)...many things about the road use/driving that are common in europe would cause a bigger moaning here than speed cameras (which btw were common place in most of eu countries about 20 years ago). what happens is actually a drift towards "europe"...

Youre not allowed to sleep in the workplace either I imagine-but it didn't stop him.

I don't think burning the van achieves anything. All they'll do is replace it and you can be sure there'll be a squad car doing drive-bys in the area anytime the replacement van is in position, just in case someone else tries to burn that one.

As for the speed limits, i'm sticking to 50 everywhere it is 50 and 60 everywhere it is 60 and all i can see happening around me is other people overtaking me, even on continuous white lines because they're fed up driving behind me, even though I'm driving at the speed limit. I know I'm making things worse but i don't want to get penalty points.
Ironically, if this continues, i'll end up 'causing' an accident........

I've noticed a lot of drivers are now breaking very hard coming up into 60kph and 50kph zones, like they were doing a pit lane entry in Formula 1.Something to watch out for if you are behind them.No doubt there will be a few rear enders. :police:

Same as that.

Well

What's the story on van's. Are the meant to be all stickered up for use on the road?? They hav depo in Athlone industrial estate ( blyry). Mate driving by earlier shift change 3:00. Two White iveco and blue transit no signs on them. But they had two more vans in the shed all stickered up but they don't use them... Not too worried about safety. Everytime people see a van now on the side of the road their hitting the brakes even if the doing the limit..
Birthing more annoy than driving behind car that keeps tapping breaks when nothing in front of them...
Rant over...
