Had a pretty shite day last wednesday, here i was minding my own business stopped at a red light pedestrian crossing across from tescos when i see a silver focus coming fast behind me, all i could do was brace for impact!!! What a day!!!!

too. I could only imagine seeing the muppet coming and trying to brace for impact, not nice!
 
Cheers lads, yeah his insurance is taking care of it, no report on the state of the car yet but the back doors don't open so thats a bad sign! Yer man said he wasn't looking or paying attention so no attempt to stop so got a nice smack alright, their were a group of teenagers about to cross the road too thank funk i didn't hit them! The dude is a provisional driver too with no one in the car with him! Spastic!!!

Waiting for his gang to offer me funk all for the car, my only saving grace is their are two 95 legacys on donedeal and their both gen 1's one is €2600 and the other is €3800, so ii'll be telling them i want another black one!! their was a lovely 92 one in cork but he just txt me to tell me he sold it :icon_cry:, i really want a gen 1 so if anyone knows of a nice one please let me know,
 
Yeah write off. They offered me 3k based on current market between the 2 95's on donedeal that happen to be gen 1's, shhhh , the more expensive being the lovely black one with 6 spoke gold speed lines. Anyone know the car?
 
again im on the other side of the fence when it comes to most of you guys callin the perpitrator a knobend , gobshite etc ....
the reasonn i say this is , i know how easily it is to take your eye of the road for 1-2 seconds and then look forward to see the car in front of you stopped , luckily enough i had the reactions to jam on and skid ( only about 40- 50 kph) into his rear end . his tow bar won out over my bumper and rad . i knew i was totally at fault and no damage to his so he was happy to leave it at that as i had come out far worse .

lesson learned and im fairly sure im not the only one on here at fault in a rta . ok he was a young "L" driver with no-one in car with him and im sure he felt really bad but i personally think its a wee bit unfair to brand him a gokenspeil .

i can proudly say that i have never been at fault in a rta yes, and under the circumstances i feel i'm well within my rite to call the guy a spastic, i'm sure he's a nice guy but tbh he really funked up my day, and may as well have killed my second child!!! okay slight exaggeration! but like must of you here my car is my thing, i don't drink alcohol or smoke, petrol is my drug and i love my cars, and i had really put my stamp on that car and wont find one like it any time soon and now i'm driving a nissan tiida for my troubles!!

so if you got rear ended like denis did you wouldnt think the fella that hit ya was a knobhead or a gobshite for not watching whats ahead of him on the road??
what if someone was injured after the crash would he still not be a knobhead or a gobshite in your eyes??
 
He must have hit you at a fair speed to bend the chassis that much. I hope you went to the doctor straight away, it can take weeks before the true extent your injuries could be seen or felt after the initial tension releases and you need to have a record of medical attention so you can claim back any expenses.

go see a Dr. I got knocked down by a hit and run driver 6 years ago. I got up immediately after it feeling ok and Its only recently my body is feeling it. Just because you don't feel it straight away it doesn't mean that you escaped injury.
 
Glad your ok mate, but you have 6 months to make a personal injury claim if you need to which would give plenty of time for any injury to show its head

Sorry to read about your car and you were lucky you appear not to have been seriously hurt. You can see the Focus's airbag has gone off in one of the photos so it was a strong enough impact.

You actually have 2 years withing which to make an application to the Injuries Board not 6 months. Most whip last shows up within 3 days of the accident and can be very sore and last quite a while.

In Personal Injuries actions if an initial letter of claim is not sent within 2 months of the accident on the wrongdoer a court hearing the action has discretion to disallow costs or disallow a portion of costs. You should keep all receipts for hospital, GP and chemist as appropriate.
