Bit of a change

Thinking of maybe getting something a bit newer next year when i can. Think im done with the ol' modified car game and just want something a bit more standard but with a bit of poke, one model that keeps catching my eye is the 2006-2010 Audi S6. One of the guys in work has one and its a lovely car, plenty of poke and that beautiful V10 sound! I have yet to hear anything bad about these model, compared to other S/RS models.

Bad points are 1800 quid a year tax and pretty bad mpg(15-20max) Anyone on here have any experience with them?

only one for sale in Ireland currently is an Avant:

I went to see this RS4 at the weekend:

Needs about 5-7 grand to make it right, obviously it got a hard life!

Just this sound alone is enough to make me want one!

For that kind of money is there anything else i should be looking at?

Only one i like out of them is M5 but mental running costs i hear!

I always liked them vaxhauls Dec but a probably on par with subaru for build quality/luxury feel! Not looking to mod anything either to make it better as thats the never ending problem right there!

I wouldn't. Drove one and the 3.8 2S. There was absolutely no get up and go unless you caned it, which i couldn't do too much on the test drive. Above 100mph i believe they come alive though. My 2lt turbo had way more pickup. My choice would be the newest GT-R you can afford. Reliable and loads of tuning potential which will inevitably happen. :turbo:

Or if your looking for a sleeper try an insignia VXR.

I used to work for opel for years and can vouch for the vxr8 real muscle big comfy seats and v8 torque any of em nice ls3 ones 414bhp getting cheap in uk now too..insignia vxr very stealthy alright and quick point to point car way to heavy and dull when pushing on ..day to day car would be nice though

Certainlly no comparison to your s204 or a lot off cars on this thread
Still would love one

I've riven a few Eoin... an '86 SC, a '98 Carrera 2 and a 99 GT3. GT3 was unreal.. but carrera 2 was a cracking car too. It was the brother in laws and I had it for a long weekend. Serious get up and go but does need to be caned... but very satifying and so much luxury compared to Jap cars.

I'd strongly consider one... but the purest part of me would rather a mid 90's air-cooled 993
