Hi all I've been away for a while. I'm looking for info on the above mentioned motor, i've been offered a choice of 2 at a knock down price by the company in Japan i buy my cars off.......... so all info on these motors would greatly, i previously owned a 00 legacy b4 rsk manual lovely to drive but a bit of a nightmare mechanically. so all info and opinions wanted. cheers

what type of info you want? spec b should come with the leather/suede, and factory nav and macintosh sound system, whats a knock down price these days?

I have one myself and they are great cars, no real issues apart from not having as much tuning options as the impreza's, single twin-scroll turbo in them nice low down quick spool up.

Not sure what info you want, but any more questions just ask, few of us on here with them.

there is an STI model but only 402 made (s402) they were available from 2008 onwards

you can get a "tuned by sti" model from 2005 onwards, which comes with Brembo's and lots of other STI goodies

mpg is nothing special about 8.2km/l which is about 20 mpg, city driving with heavy foot!

276bhp as standard with about 250ft l/bs of torque

Hard to find cheap performance parts for the legacy though as a lot of differences between the Legacy and Impreza. lots of styling parts available on japanparts.com

no spec b's on here only Johnb4 has the closest match to one with his blue WR limited

spec b is just the nicest level of trim interior and exterior over the standard 2.0GT's

here is a pic of mine, have no pics of interior but it has half leather and half bue alacanta

so what are the possible pit falls and problems
nothing really jumps out as being problematic with this model. some lower control arm bushings wear after about 30k once its properly serviced and maintained you should have no problems. remap to Irish fuel is recommended

Theres also a euro spec b..don't get confused with this one, its has a 3.0 litre N/a producing around 250bhp..if your buying from Japan you will be alright but they weren't sold there

what's the market value for a 07 one?
a 2007 jap spec b or euro?

hard to tell if its jap because they are still quite expensive to vrt

irish spec b:
http://www.carzone.ie/search/Subaru/Legacy/3.0-SPEC/200944195698296/advert?channel=CARS

they either come in 2.0 or 3.0 non turbo petrol or diesel

jap spec b comes in 2.0 or 3.0 non turbo or 2.0 twinscroll turbo.

seems like not all jap spec b's come with leather interior only the euro/irish spec b

So which one can your buddy get ya?

2.0 twinscroll tuned by sti is the best option by far (unless you can get an s402!)
