hi all just a quick question on paint on my blob, on the plate it says 02c which i hope is right ? but the engine bay and front panel are like a navy blue is this the usuall on the blobs ???? i ment to take a pic earlier on il get one 2mor if needed

nothing to worry about , my hawk is the same .

even the underside of the bonnet isnt 02c ,

could never think of a good reason why subaru done it

Cost saving Tommy.. Plus painting metallic in areas like this can be very difficult as it needs clear lacquer to protect it.

It would seem they're not too generous with paint aswell from the factory,on a classic I have you can see small areas where they missed when painting,it's not the only subaru I've noticed it on?

Ya I checked in boot behind the panels last night no paint at all in some spots just primer

That's the base coat that the shells are dipped in so as to cover all internal and hidden areas... That's the initial protection coat prior to final colour which is sprayed on in only select, visible areas.

What would ye do with something like this

Inside to boot lid on my one. Would ya paint it's the same interior colour. Or would you leave as is below the rear screen was full of leaves when I got it prob caused that but the boot lid stoppers done beside tail light. Will it look more original to be left or tidied up. Anyone else's blob like this. Don't know how matching the original paint finish on the inside will look. Don't want it to look like it got rear ended.
( sorry for the hijack )

Mine is like that too. I have 3M clear tape that can be cut to shape and stuck on where the stopper hits the panel, after its painted up and dry . It's great for protecting it. Regarding the colour it could be done in the body colour as it's only a narrow strip, it'll look sound.
