Blue 09 Hatch Athlone

Shes collecting the car Sunday. Will stick up a few pics then(of the car!). Might even get her to join here and start a (re)build thread when the likely crankshaft failure happens!

Congrats:clap: Crankshaft might not happen as it Seems Hit and miss if they go or not so hopefully not

Hopefully not! Has a nice few extras, very low miles, fully service history and minded like a baby! (But apparently none of that seems to stop them f'n up the cranks!). With a bit of luck she'll get a good run out of it.

Is it a Wrx Hatch?

It's a coal burner, but has a few sti spoilers, bumpers and splitter. Meant to have prodrive exhaust and daycent suspension too. Does look very well. Have seen it in Athlone a few times and thought it was sti until told otherwise.

There was a few in c&r out back with that same problem with the crank are Subaru standing over it ??

Yes Keith there standing over it for about 5 minuets lifting the bonnet and then telling you its fooked and your on your own :jack:

is it all diesels that this could happen to, or have Subaru rectified the issue with newer cars?

Not really well up on it but the crank seems to be snapping making shite of everything including the block so it's a Whole engine that's needed comes in at somewhere near 7k and can't be got second hand not a nice situation to be in . Would mean a 2010 diesel subaru would be worthless if the engine went

They picked up the car today. Due a trip to the clinic to get rid of a few sti's! Also some mighty big looking 12 pot brembo breaks front and back! So dissapointed to find out they were made of plastic! But apart from that, and the contant fear of engine detruction, have to say it is a fine car. Heres a few pictures before any of the extra badges and stuff are removed.

 It looks very very well Hopefully will be very reliable . Some nice Bits front lip rear exhausts wheels and spoiler makes its stand out very well enjoy It looks great
