Probably not to everyones liking but I thought I would try it and see how it looks. Not made up my mind yet on this.
Crap phone pictures sorry. Also put my dash bulbs back to green as the red was not shining through and I couldn't see any of the dials at night (except for the fuel gauge :icon_biggrin:

does it have any benefits? I thought it was just for N/A's to prevent heat soak to the induction kit?

Actually thinking about it wouldn't this be taking air away from your top mount? the angle of entry has changed..

Supossed to allow more heat escape engine :dontknow:
Probably more of a visual benefit though.

How did you break that

I was thinking about doing the same to my White one
But I won't bother.
It's more of a track look so il do it to the track car instead.

I'll let you guys know how many people at traffic lights tell me my bonnet is open :icon_biggrin:

no for me.. it just makes it look like your bonnet it open and i think if it was my car it would just annoy me over time.

I would be more worried because you are still running a top mount (afaik) and by lifting the bonnet, you are lifting the rubber that directs airflow over the intercooler allowing air to escape without travelling over the fins.

It would be very useful for track cars already running a FMIC and running high temps while out on track as the vacuum created help draw the heat up out if the engine. Not much use on a track car though.

If you like it andy, then leave it but if you do decide to leave it, then i would check what sort of gap is left between the intercooler and possibly make up a little spacer for it for your own sake

Or if you do like it, might be an excuse to go for a FMIC  :icon_lol:

Wouldnt be for me Andy, sorry mate. To me looks like your car has got a bang and been repaired real bad..
How does tilting the Bonnet effect airflow through the scoop, does it direct air over the back of intercooler rather than down through it??

i do like the look it gives but as above, cant be helping the airflow to the intercooler

I just think it make the car look damaged. Sorry Andy. There's a Focus on carzone with the lift kit fitted, I won't even think about looking at that one for that reason even if its perfect. Sorry man. But not for me.

I think your car is beautiful as is.

your car is savage, and no offence intended at all,but i think it makes a balls of the car.. :shock2:

One thing i always liked about you Billy, the way you use the english language to express your true feelings

As above its lifting the rubber around the top mount so could raise inlet temps so could be a danger rather then helping. Obviously if went front mount would not matter.

Probably taking the lift kit off lads. :icon_biggrin:

Picked up the girlfriend earlier and she got into the car saying oh my God Andy did you crash?

Went home to mothers house earlier and she looked out the window and said, did you have a crash?

On the underside of the bonnet, there is a rubber/plastic piece that directs the air through the intercooler. If you raise the bonnet, then you raise the plastic piece from the intercooler and therefore create a gap for the air coming through the scoop to escape from. Less air through the fins means less cooling and therfore higher charge temps
