Boosting/ignition issue

Agreed. But, even a few pre map checks might have you sorted. Replacing pump, packs, plugs, filters, neutral position switch, MAF, cleaning IACV, all those little things could have you sorted too.
Does sound like it's hitting boost cut. Surprised it's mapped 1.5, seldom you'd see cars mapped for that, but id say try get it to AP and get it checked over again.
Maybe try a bottle of octane booster and see how you go. NOT a long term solution lol

now that i think the strainer bag might have been a bit dark when i pulled it out of the tank, might take a look at that again, might get a new maf and change the coils to ones i know work and check those sensors you mentioned. if still nothing from any of them yeah ill get AP to take a look at it.

it’s a lot of money to throw at it before letting someone plug in to it , might only have to change 1 part.

I’ve a good set of coils there if you’re looking

I remember when I had the WRX.. Remember all them boosting issues..
I got onto AP, he said he will NOT put a car on the dyno if its not running right... Even tho I did try and argue that I think mapping on it was the issue..

For background info.. Think car was modified, mapped, and put back stock before I got it, and never ran right, the more I modded, sports cat etc.. The issues seemed to subside a little bit.... Like it was getting closer to what it was mapped for
But Aonghus wouldn't take it at all
Different story to here but...

Update: plugged the obd cable into the phone and logged a whole drive, everything was fine no signs of knock at all. Nothing suspicious came up when checking all the data. Went back to ignition and decided to buy OEM coil packs. Turns out that was it, runs perfect now. The ones I had in it were only in it a year, brand called Huco. Thought they looked to be good brand but looks maybe the voltage they were getting was dropping under the higher pressure and start missing. The ones before that were OEM also but all the nicks where the connectors clip into were all broken so they were toast anyway.
