Boot no Longer Pops up

The boot on my classic no longer pops up when released.

So it used to pop an inch or so when released, theirs no tension to lift it anymore.

Anyway to adjust the mechanism?
 
Not sure what Subaru you have or how similar the mechanisms in the boot lid are between them but did you check the latch itself and see if the little arm on it is up or down? Mine stopped working today and checked my latch and the little arm thing was up when it should be down. Sorry for the lack of proper terminology, has been a long day haha
I assume you can still open the boot with the key and it's the release in the car that isn't working?
 
the release is working in the car, but you need two people one at the boot to lift it, or open it with a key and lift it yourself

the boot is also a dead weight, i thought it was the spring initially, but looking at the mechanism, its some sort of torsion bar setup with no springs.

Its a classic btw
 
That?s the only place where your problem can be, it?s either a spring or torsion rod that gives it the lift.. nothing else. Unless you have added a heavier spoiler or something
