Brake kit - upgrade

I was thinking about sprucing up my brake kit a bit and getting something like what Joescooby has.
(Hope you don't mid me borrowing your avatar, mate. :) )

Are these from a wrx?
My car is an '07 rx with 16" wheels. Would I need to get new disks to fit these on?
Would the wrx kit perform better than my rx kit? even though it is the look i'm going for.
I presume no type of brembo would fit my existing disks?

All help appreciated.

Thanks,
Adrian.

They're 2 pot rears off a classic STI ... not sure what's involved but I can't imagine it would be easy to get a classic 2 Pot to fit a 07 rear hub.... PCD would be an issue and getting caliper brackets made might not be easy. Not even sure if an 07 RX has rear dics or drums...???

You'd be better fitting Brembos off a Newage... but you may STI rear need hubs aswell as disc, calipers etc.... could work out quite pricey!

Thanks Jamie. Sometimes i wish i was a mechanic........
Ideally, I would love brembos, but having to change hubs is getting a bit too complicated for me.
would there be a similar kit on a newage, say a hawkeye wrx, that would bolt straight on rather than having to change the hubs??
(And the rx has discs, not drums. )

If you have disc as standard on the RX... it'll make it easier to retro fit calipers. Not sure... but Brembos might go on now with just and adaptor plate bracket etc... I'm sure someone's done it!

As for the option of WRX brakes on an RX... not sure... there may be a difference in the hub... there may not!!

Brembos off a bug or early blob are direct fit straight on the front , a bracket is needed to fit rear brembos ,

afaik any newage wrx brakes will fit directly to the rx ,

the standard front pads are the same part number as the wrx brake pads so might not be a massive upgrade in braking performance so brembos are the only way to go , also on my old rx the rear brakes were the same as an sti v5 caliper and exact same pad to , just a bit of useless info there Adrian ,

basically Jamie except subaru wasnt stamped on the caliper as per sti , only reason i found that out was when i was getting new pads on the sport was the garage tried 3 sets of pads all of which were wrong , by chance the owner of the garage compared his v5 sti pads to mine and bingo they matched ,

the hawk rx seems to be an odd ball of a car , ie my rx came with gas shocks when the part number listed on subarus own computer were for an oil filled item ,

The brakes on the rx were more than up to the job tho imo , but brembos cant be beaten

Thanks Tommy, that was interesting and very useful information.
I will admit, I do like that brembo look
The only other thing bothering me is will they fit inside my 16" wheels?? There seems to be a good gap for them to fit though. I just got brand new tyres so i dont really want to have to get bigger wheels and tyres to go with them.
I dont find braking performance that great though, but maybe that is just me......

I have to agree with you, Tommy, about the hawkeye rx. It is an oddball of a car. I was chatting to a local supplier and told him how when i eventually took out one of the spark plugs, i discovered it was long life and didnt need to be replaced for another while but when he showed me what he would have given me, it looked nothing like what i took out. The plug that is in the car is a lot bigger than what he was going to give me but he assured me that that is what was in the 'book'.

Slightly different to your point but another odd thing that i discovered was that the rx didnt come with a pollen filter even though a new one only costs €7. The gap is there for a filter but just no filter.

Now that I am nearly at the end of my air con retrofit ( ), I'm a bit puzzled why the car didnt have it to begin with. It's amazing really when you hook up the pipes and see everything there waiting to be connected, e.g. little holes for connectors to pop into to hold the pipes in place, all the wiring necessary to plug in the air con pump, and the second fan, and when i pulled off the blank cover over where the button should be in the dash, i see that there is a fully working 'click' button there, with a light in it that lights up when the lights are on! And it's not actually that hard to fit all the bits on, especially when they were building the car. So why leave it out? They had it half done anyway.
