i wud luv 2 upgrade the brakes on me subaru but not sure wat type. Are brembros the best
or is there other ones and how much wud it cost 2 do it

Just change your pads to EBC red stuff....
Brembos are good,AP racing also, but i assume your car is standard, just get some decent pads....

lots of options joe!!!
brembos would be considered very good but there are other options like k-sports,ap racing and d2 racing!!!!
depends on your budget!!!!
brembos fetch big money secondhand!!!!

I wouldn't put AP racing to the same bag with K-sport/D2 though...

For me there is AP racing.. and the rest of the world

Whoever tried AP racing stuff.. got an idea what braking is about..

I want to convert my Type-R's fronts to 6pots AP racing 330 mm oneday..
Don't know what to put on the rear axle though.. :ponder2:

i have ap racing 6 pots up front, and the stopping power is unreal.
if you were goin all out, they would be the right job.

Do you have a specific budget in mind? People will be able to give you a better idea of what you should get if you have a price in mind.

If you already have 4 pot subaru calipers, then the next step up would be second hand 4 pot brembo's or new 8 pot k sports. Both have the same size pad afaik but theoretically the k sport should be better with more pistons spreading more load although the brembo is generally better quality generally but you always take a chance getting stuff second hand. StiBrian has a set of k sports on his, upgraded from 4 pot subaru i think and he says there is a huge difference. JpTypeRA has done the same i think

The next step after that is AP Racing 6 pots or Brembo 6 pots. Think Yogi had the brembo 6 pots on his wagon when it was for sale so he might be able to tell you how good they are. Brembo and AP are probably the 2 best, well known brake on the market

yes its all about money these days
you could start by braided hoses all round, new brake fluid and a good quality pad and take it from there
ap/brembo have been stopping some of the fastest cars in the world for years
i have ap 6 pot on my sti ra they would nearly put you through the windscreen!!

yeah all bout how much theyd cost i guess. At the moment i think the brakes are standard and not great stoppin power so wud like 2 upgrade
them k sport ones seem good i was reedin bout them but u guys know more so thanks for the info. had bout 1500 euro in me head 2 spend.
Wud tatget them :ponder2: :ponder2: :ponder2:

Well 1500 would get you new Ksports & you'd still have change. Or would also get you a very good condition set of second hand AP's too.

I'll sell ya my immaculate Ksports for 1k & I'll go buy the AP's if you want

wud tat b for all 4 and wud they fit on ok. It wont b for a month or 2 bfore i do it so tat probally no good 2 u

I drove mick spec c's 400 hp type r on track enthuistically nonstop for 20 minute sessions with D2 front calipers (same as Ksport) and they were fantastic!
I have Porsche GT3 RS cup car 6pots (made by brembo) on my forester, and they are fantastic as well! and so pretty
But If I was looking for the absolute best performance brakes, I would go for 6pot AP's!

STI Brian's deal for his Ksports would be good value for money!

No its just the front set as JP says

Come back to me when you have the money & we can have a chat, I'm in no rush to change anyway, the ksports are certainly good enough for my level of driving.

If you want the best brakes for your Scooby then Alcon are the ones to go for. The SWRT used these brakes on their WRC Imprezas until recently when they used STI branded AP racing brakes.

Check them out here. They are expensive but you gets whats you pays for and all that! Dont forget tomake sure your wheels are big enough to fit over whatever brake kit you settle on.
